Sustainable Tourism
The Travel Corporation Conservation Foundation
Insight Vacations does its best to ensure that any impact left on a destination is positive. As a founding partner of the Travel Corporation Conservation Foundation (CF), Insight supports conservation projects in the regions we travel to.
Established in 2008 as a non-profit organization, the foundation works with existing projects that benefit a destinations community, heritage and environment.
To date, CF has raised via contributions in excess of 2 million USD with over 1.5 million invested in projects. Currently there are a number of additional projects under consideration, as well as considerations to either extend or increase contributions to existing projects. Organizations that have benefited from CF contributions include Conservation International, the WWF, Tourism Cares, The Travel Foundation, the World Travel and Tourism Council in support of sustainable tourism and conservation initiatives. Visit the CF and our projects for more information.
Insight Vacations Works to Preserve History
Insight & The Travel Corporation Conservation Foundation are currently working with the University of Glasgow’s Centre for Battlefield Archaeology (CBA) in their efforts to study and protect historic European battlefields. This partnership is helping to reveal new understanding of major historical events whilst benefiting local communities and visitors in the region.
Currently Insights support is enabling research on the site of the 1918 Battle of Mont Saint-Quentin. Supported in part by the Australian Department of Veteran’s Affairs this project hopes to reveal more information about the events of this significant WWI battle.
Visit The Battle of Mont Saint-Quentin to learn more about this project and the work of the CBA.
