Capture the magic of your Insight Vacation

They say ‘A picture’s worth a thousand words’ but now your photo could actually win you a tour with Insight Vacations!

If you have a really good image from an Insight vacation that captures one of the trip's most unforgettable moments, then enter it online. Maybe it will be a snapshot of the hustle and bustle of Morocco’s medinas; or perhaps it will be a life study of children playing along the banks of the River Nile. We’d also love to see you sitting at a café on Piazza San Marco in the evening; or joining your fellow guests at a celebration dinner in Montreal. Whichever picture you submit we are sure it will represent the diverse experiences that make Insight the trip of a lifetime for many travellers.

Share your favourite photo with us and you could win 8 days touring of your choice!* Budding photographers are in for treat with the colourful mix and scenic contrasts on the 8-day European Breakaway or you may wish to extend to a longer tour with the first 8 days free! The winning photograph will also feature in our 2013 brochure.

Simply register on Insight’s Travel Forum and start uploading your photos. You can enter up to 5 photos per person. All entries must be submitted to Insight on or before 30 April 2012.

Tips from our Judges:

Your photo should capture the spirit of travelling with Insight and you should try to be creative with the subject matter. Make your photo stand out with the following tips from our judging panel:

Memorable people –capture the fun your group is having, dining experiences, and photos of Tour Directors sharing fascinating insights into local history and culture.
Be spontaneous – The best pictures are often those that capture the moment; albeit it laughter, surprise or movement; in one snapshot.
See the Whole Picture – Think about how to compose your image. Frame the shot or get some interesting angles. See the whole of your subject within the frame; consider what is included in the foreground not just the main subject.
Unforgettable experiences – a gondola ride in Venice, enjoying leisurely lunch in a street café or taking a stroll in a scenic location.
Spectacular places – feature well known landmarks and backdrops that capture the magic of your vacation.

We have featured a number of ‘Judges Favourite Photos’ to give you an idea of what they are looking for. Remember, the more creative you are; the more impressed the judges will be!

Picture Guidelines

Your photos should submitted as Jpeg files (high to maximum quality)
Photos taken from a minimum 6 mega-pixel camera
The maximum upload file size to the Insight Travel Forum is 1MB. However original photo file sizes should be between 3MB and 10MB. Alternatively pixel measurements for 7" x 5" should be 2100 x 1500 pixels and for 12" x 10" would be 3600 x 3000 pixels. All photos will need to be this size in order to be considered for the winning prize.

Photo Contest Terms & Conditions

Eligibility: To enter you must be 18 years or older. Photograph(s) must be submitted by 30 April 2012.

Judging: The winner will be notified by email by 15th May 2012.

*Prize: The prize is 8 days touring in Europe with Insight Vacations for two people sharing a twin room. Prize is subject to availability and must be completed within 12 months from issue of notification. Applies to coach-only tours in Europe and excludes Select tours, Gold tours, Eastern Mediterranean tours, and tours with flights, rail or cruises. The winner can choose either an 8 day tour or can extend to a longer duration tour with 8 days free and pay for the additional days pro-rata. Applies to land only tours and does not include airfares or flight supplements. The prize is non-transferable and non-redeemable for cash. Prize is subject to tour availability and conditions. Prize winners are subject to Insight Vacations normal booking conditions detailed in the Insight Vacations 2012/13 brochure. All other incidental costs unless otherwise stated, including any costs related to passports, visas, meals (other than the inclusions listed on the brochure tour page), beverages, optional excursions whilst on tour, transfers to and from departure points, additional accommodation and insurance will be the responsibility of the winner. Embargo restrictions apply during certain periods.

Licence and warranties: Photograph(s) submitted for consideration must be original photograph(s) taken by the person submitting the entry and not copyrighted. Insight Vacations Ltd (and their agents) will have the unrestricted right to use all photograph(s) and the likeness of individuals within Insight Vacation brochures, website and other promotional materials that Insight Vacations deems fit, whether or not it is a winning photograph. The person submitting the photograph retains the on-going right to use the photograph(s) submitted.
