5 Island Things To Do
1. Look local at the luau by ditching the grass skirt for an Aloha shirt or muumuu. You’ll also fit in with casino decor around the world.
2. Cocktails by the beach are almost mandatory in Hawaii, so get into the spirit with a Blue Hawaii or an authentic Mai Tai.
3. Shave ice, (don’t call it a snow cone!) comes in lots of flavors. Order yours with azuki beans and/or a scoop of ice cream.
4. What’s Hawaiian for ‘fore’? Who knows, but Hawaii is a golfer’s paradise with many courses sandwiched between cloud-shrouded mountains and the sea.
5. Don’t leave without trying a good poke. Fingers, sticks, and pointy objects aside, we’re talking marinated raw fish salad. It’s the true taste of Hawaii!
