Morning sightseeing reveals the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Wingless Victory and Hadrian's Arch. A Local Expert takes you to the Parthenon, built atop the Acropolis. Then follow the shores of the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal, dividing the Peloponnese from mainland Greece. Next is the ruined city of Mycenae, featured in epics of Homer. With a Local Expert, walk through the Lion Gate, visit the royal ‘beehive' tombs and see the giant Cyclopean stones used to build the city walls. Later, meet the artisans and view beautiful works of art at a family-run pottery studio. Continue to the elegant seaside town of Nafplio.

  3. Day 3

The Mountains of Arkadia to Olympia

Travel into the heart of Argolis and with a Local Expert, visit the Sanctuary of Asklepios at Epidaurus with its superb 4th century BC theatre. In Olympia, see the city's ancient temples, the Olympic Stadium and the athletes' gymnasium with a Local Expert and learn about how the original games were first held in 776BC. Then head north to Patras and cross the soaring Rio-Antirrio Bridge to the mainland. Follow the coastal road before driving up in the foothills of Mount Parnassus and on to your hotel.

  5. Day 5

The Sacred Way then to Kalambaka

Ascend the Sacred Way of Delphi with a Local Expert, past the Parian marble Treasury of the Athenians and Polygonal Wall – its interlocking stones still perfectly intact after thousands of years. Trip: great history, certainly would like to spend more time.

Service: Dimitri was THE BEST tour guide I've ever had. He was professional, personal, friendly and extremely knowledgeable.

Trip: Good hotels, transportation and chosen sights! Also wonderful tour director and tour guides. Wish we could have spent more time in each spot but to get everything in we couldn't. We didn't enjoy the cruise which was okay at best. If the cruise had better food it would have helped. There were so many people getting off the boat at the same time and trying to eat at the same time we always seemed herded like cattle. We were glad that we only booked 3 instead of 7 nights.

Service: Once we got on the tour everyone associated with Insight was helpful, informative and enjoyable. Our problem was the customer service on the phone before we went on the trip. We called several times and the representatives didn't know or couldn't find out the answers to our questions. We wanted to know more detail about the trip so that for the extra days we were in the same location we didn't overlap our sightseeing. We had to wait til we arrived to plan the extra days.

Trip: The land portion of the trip was good and we got to see a lot. But the cruise portion was not as good an experience because of the disorganization on the part of the cruise line. Insight Vacations' representative Erin Nedlesky was great and did all she could to ease the confusion.

Service: The service I received both before the trip and during the trip was very good. Particularly good was the service rendered by the tour director Erin Nedlesky. She was very well organized and went the extra mile to make our vacation special. I would use her as much possible to promote your company. She definitely deserves 5 stars!

Trip: We had many unique experiences while we explored the highlights of Greece and Turkey. We often were the first group entering an attraction in the morning, which enabled us to explore without crowds of visitors.

Service: Our tour director was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. She and the driver worked well together and they did many extra little things to enrich our experiences.

  • 31 October, 2017

Trip: Two ports a day was a lot to pack into one weekend. Not all excursions equal

Service: Erin did an awesome job! Highly organized and did her best to make everything as easy for us as possible

  • 17 October, 2017

  • 03 October, 2017

    Trip: Great and informative Trip

Service: The sights and attractions were great and beautiful. The size of the Insight tour group was too large on the Cruise portion.

Trip: Insights tour directors (Ourinia and Anne) were wonderful and went beyond to satisfy my families requirements and requests. The local experts at each locality were superb, they knew their stuff and answered questions in a friendly and sincere manner. A wonderful and awesome experience.

Service: Insight tour directors and local experts provide wonderful care to detail and absolutely try their best to meet our requirements and requests. They go that extra mile to satisfy you and ensure you are happy. I have no hesitation in recommending them to my family and friends.

Trip: A lot of travel and bus rides but was necessary to visit all the sites. Good overview of Greece and it's history. Did not like having to leave the ship by 7 AM. This was really a wasted day. Hotel rooms were not ready so we were camped out in the lobby. Unable to contact new guide as ours was off on a new tour. I felt she should have been available to facilitate getting us to our rooms without a 5 hour wait. These were reserved for a long time. I would have preferred to go right from the ship to the airport and travel that day instead of wasting a day. This was a great disappointment, and an unfortunate way to end the trip. The lack of a guide present was awful and unhelpful.

Service: Tour guides were excellent, helpful and knowledgeable. Buses comfortable. Drivers friendly and timely.
