  2. Day 2 - Relaxed Start

    The Eternal City of Rome

(Relaxed Start) In the morning, a Local Expert introduces you to the full arc of the city's highlights. In the afternoon, perhaps take an optional experience to visit the Colosseum and Ancient Forum?

  3. Day 3

Rome’s Vatican Museums to Renaissance Florence

Before leaving Rome, you are fast-tracked through the VIP entrance of the Vatican Museums with a Local Expert. Admire the Papal art collection and visit the Bramante Staircase, a part of the Vatican generally denied to the viewing public. Then enter the Sistine Chapel and admire Michelangelo's famous painted ceiling. Afterwards go next door to St. Peter's Basilica to see Michelangelo's early masterpiece, the Pietà, as well as the splendid dome, completed after his death. Head north through the cypress clad hills of Tuscany, home of the famous Chianti wines, to the beautiful city of Florence.

  4. Day 4

Explore Florence and on to Venice

Join your Local Expert and walk to the multi-coloured marble cathedral, bell tower and baptistery, adorned by Ghiberti's 'Gates of Paradise'. You also visit the open-air gallery of Renaissance masterpieces in Signoria Square, lined with fountains and sculptures. See the area around Santa Croce Basilica - famous for the quality of its luxury goods. While in Florence, there’s time to shop for its famous leather and gold or relax with a coffee or a glass of wine in a sidewalk cafe and let the city cast its magical spell. Then proceed to Venice, a city adorned with marble palaces and secret passageways. At night indulge in traditional Italian at a local restaurant. Belissimo!

  5. Day 5 - Relaxed Start

Venice & the Magic of 'La Serenissima'

(Relaxed Start) A private launch takes you past canals lined with ornate architecture to St. Marks Square, dominated by its magnificent basilica and overlooked by the great Clock Tower. Nearby is the Campanile and Doge's Palace which is connected to the prisons via the Bridge of Sighs. While in Venice, you will also get to watch the age-old skill of glassblowing. On your romantic gondola serenade, glide along the atmospheric canals, exploring the intimate and hidden parts of this unique city while musicians set the mood with traditional songs.

  6. Day 6

    Through the Alps to Lucerne

Glimpse the beautiful Italian Lake District as you journey into Switzerland. Continue through the heart of the Swiss Alps, past gushing streams and soaring peaks, through the St. Gotthard Tunnel to Lucerne. In the evening, join your friends and choose from a selection of local restaurants for dinner.

  7. Day 7

    Lucerne’s Lake and Lion

Accompany your Tour Director to view the emotive Lion Monument. Then spend time shopping, or stroll across the Chapel Bridge to the ornate Jesuit Church. Later, we head to the town of Stans, where we embark on a scenic journey by funicular railway and open-top cable car to the summit of the stunning Stanserhorn. On a clear day, as well as the beautiful mountains and surrounding hills, there are views as far as Alsace and the Black Forest in Germany. Return to Lucerne where the rest of the day is at leisure. Perhaps venture into the countryside to meet the local farmers for a delightful horse-drawn carriage ride?

  8. Day 8

Paris for a ‘Diner de Célébration’

Drive past Basel before crossing the Rhine to enter France. Travel through the wine-growing Burgundy region to Paris, the vibrant ‘Ville-Lumière' (City of Light). During your time in Paris, see the imposing façades of the Louvre, the banks of the Seine with its many romantic bridges, the obelisk in the centre of the Place de la Concorde and drive along the Champs Elysées to the Arc de Triomphe. Enjoy a ‘Diner de Célébration' served with wine in a Parisian bistro, abundant with French ambience.

  9. Day 9

    Paris, The ‘City of Light’

Start the day sightseeing with a Local Expert who will take you on a walking tour of the bohemian Latin Quarter. Explore the myriad of streets situated on the left bank of the Seine, before continuing to the Notre Dame Cathedral, a masterpiece of French Gothic architecture. Ascend to the viewing platforms of the Eiffel Tower for spectacular panoramas of the city. The rest of the day is at leisure for a shopping spree in the grand department stores or the elegant designer boutiques. By night, why not try one of the world-famous cabaret shows, for an evening of excitement and glamour?

Trip: Perfect locations for my ideal desired sights.

Service: Hello....My wife and I could not be happier with our Insight Vacations experience. We we so pleased with our tour guide, the hotels, the bus and everything we did while in Europe.

Trip: One more day ought to be added in Florence to be able to see the David statue. When in Paris one thinks the Louvre ought to be included and walking the Avenue des Champs-Élysées.

Service: The trip was well coordinated and they offered excellent optional experiences. The reason I'm not giving them five stars is because the last city's tour was disappointing. Throughout the trip we were treated to private excursions by boat but in Paris we were crammed onto a ship that seemed to be overloaded. There must have been close to one thousand people on this boat. Other people on the tour were disappointed by this excursion too. Also, driving by the Louvre is not "seeing" it. Driving by The Avenue des Champs-Élysées is not the same as having the opportunity to walk at least a part of it. The trip on the Eurostar to England was uneventful however upon our arrival there were major problems. Our agent was confused and didn't speak the language well. We were forced to walk all over the area trying to locate the pickup vehicle. We had an elderly couple with us. The agent was oblivious to their plight. The vehicle arrived but was only told to pick up one of our party. Ten minutes later another vehicle arrived that was only told to pick up four. The elderly couple were left for I don't know how long. We offered to trade positions but the driver said he was only supposed to pick up the people he had on his list. It was horrible. We didn't arrive to our hotel until a good hour and a half after our arrival at the Eurostar station. Needless to say this left a bad taste in our mouth.

Trip: We were sorry not to see The David in Florence and The Louvre in Paris. Otherwise, the trip was great.

Service: The tour director (Steve) was fantastic. The bus was so comfortable and the tour was very organized.

  • 16 October, 2017

Trip: It was great but our Tour Director did not differentiate between the included sightseeing and the optional tours, thus putting them together unless you would remind him. Them he would tell you that they would come back or pick you up. Many of us felt the tour director was pushing optionals and not explaining the included sightseeing. He would explain both together, as to make you believe that if you did not take the optional, you would have to stay behind. Initially some people did and missed the included sightseeing.

Service: Itinerary was good, optionals were excellent.

  • 16 October, 2017

Trip: We got to see every major attraction with no waiting in lines. The itinerary was fast and furious but we got to see so much!

Service: Our tour guide was fantastic as we're the local experts brought in for specific attractions. Everyone was filled with fascinating facts about each site. We also had premium access to every tourist attraction saving hours of waiting. We had reservations at each restaurant and we walked right in and we're served. Can't get better than that.

Trip: We loved Italy and Switzerland, but weren't as impressed with France.

Service: A jam-packed, fun-filled vacation led by a personable and knowledgeable tour director!

  • 16 October, 2017

Trip: Went to sights that were on the top of my must see list, but also got to experience more personal everyday life that was just as amazing and memorable.

Service: Would definitely go through Insight again. Lots of amazing experiences, wonderful people, and a journey I'll never forget.

  • 16 October, 2017

Trip: 2 nights in Florence and another night in Paris

Service: Service good. Timely arrival of paperwork.

  • 08 October, 2017

Trip: Once in a lifetime purchases of Murano glass items and leather goods.

Service: First time bus tour experience. Excellent experience: from the professionalism and friendliness of our Tour ambassador, Mercedes-Benz coach and driver, and location visited -sites and hotel stay. Already recommended Insight Vacations to a number of friends and family. Thank you for such a great vacation experience. MG Wrubel

Trip: Being first day of travel luggage delayed was somewhat hectic had to miss afternoon sight seeing

Service: This was our first time to travel with big group it was quite well planed.we also felt very safe

  • 02 October, 2017

Trip: Would have preferred the Vatican was an optional event. A little more time on our own might have been nice, though guess that's because we did most of the optional events.

Service: The tour was extremely well planned with an awesome tour director (Andrew) & driver (Antonio). They took care of us so well. All of the hotels were great, except Florence. Between the included events and optional ones, we experienced way more in Europe than we would have on our own, I'm sure.
