  1. Day 1

    Athens, City of the Gods

    You are met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Later, join your Insight Vacations Representative and fellow travellers for a Welcome Drink.

  2. Day 2

    The Glories of Athens

    In the morning, all the glories of Athens are on display during sightseeing. The highlight, of course, is a visit to the Acropolis to admire the Parthenon. The afternoon is at leisure.

  3. Day 3 - Relaxed Start

    Cruising to Mykonos

    (Relaxed Start) Transfer to the port of Lavrion to board your cruise ship and set sail for the blue waters of the Mediterranean. In the late afternoon, dock at Mykonos, with its maze of walkways, winding streets, white-washed houses, magnificent windmills and uninhibited nightlife. While cruising, expert chefs and well-trained staff serve local specialties, an exquisite variety of Mediterranean dishes as well as flavours, aromas and spices from around the world. Breakfast (BB), Lunch (L) and Dinner (D) is served on board daily. Once on-board, your drinks package can be upgraded for an additional cost, to include alcohol if you wish.

  4. Day 4 - Relaxed Start

    Kusadasi and Samos

    Awake to find you have arrived at the Turkish port of Kusadasi where you enjoy a visit to ancient Ephesus. Your Local Expert will guide you through one of the world's finest archeological sites. In the afternoon sail to the nearby Greek Island of Samos where you are free to explore. Later in the evening, continue to cruising to Milos.

  5. Day 5 - Relaxed Start

    Milos

    (Relaxed Start) After a pleasant morning’s cruising, arrive in Milos. The whole day is set aside for you to explore this gorgeous island, with its crystal waters and white cliffs. Later in the evening, you will sail to Athens.

  6. Day 6 - Relaxed Start

    Piraeus and Syros

    (Relaxed Start) The morning is spent in Piraeus on the Greek mainland, before weighing anchor after lunch bound for Syros - the island where Greek tradition and western influence come to a harmonious marriage.

  7. Day 7 - Relaxed Start

    Çesme, Turkey

    (Relaxed Start) You awake to discover that you have arrived at the Turkish resort town of Çesme on the Aegean Coast. Here beaches are golden, the ocean is warm and the atmosphere is refined and friendly. Dominating the town is the 16th Century castle, now a museum. The main square has many restaurants and cafes - a great place to watch the sunset into the sea. In the evening cruise onto Kos.

  8. Day 8 - Relaxed Start

    Kos

    (Relaxed Start) In the morning, dock at the lively town of Kos - birthplace of Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine. Known as 'a true treasure island', with its remarkable number of monuments and sights, perhaps spend the day venturing to near-by villages or stay within Kos Town to discover its history at one of the museums? In the evening sail south to Ios.

  9. Day 9 - Relaxed Start

    Ios and Santorini

    (Relaxed Start) Your morning arrival at Ios allows plenty of time to venture through this Cycladic gem. Everywhere you travel on Ios, whether you hike into its hills or stroll along any of its 33 beaches, the vistas will dazzle you. After lunch, cruise onto the island of Santorini, famous for its white cuboid houses that cling to the sheer cliffs.

  10. Day 10

    Athens

    Disembark in the morning and transfer to your hotel where you are at leisure. Relax, shop or bargain in the flea market. Perhaps ask about an optional experience to the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion?

  11. Day 11

    Depart Athens

    Bid farewell to Athens. Your tour ends with a transfer to the airport.

Traditional Greek Taverna Meal With Entertainment

This is an evening excursion to a taverna in the centre of Athens. Excellent traditional Greek food in a lively atmosphere, entertained through dances and music from all parts of the country. Cape Sounion

Take a relaxing trip down to the southernmost tip of Mainland Greece to see the fifth century B.C Temple of Poseidon at Sounion. See if you can spot where Byron carved his initials on one of the temple’s sixteen columns. Marvel at the sheer rugged beauty of the coastline and the ancient temple perched above a 197-foot drop down to the Aegean Sea below. A Step into Authentic Greek Culture

Feel the warmth of Greek hospitality this evening as we are welcomed to a unique venue overlooking inimitable Athens. Tonight we will experience many aspects of traditional Greek life as our hosts divulge secrets of traditional bread making, the art of weaving, and the production of flour, but to name a few. Following, we enjoy appetizers of warm home - made bread, olive oil, olives with Greek feta cheese, and a glass of ouzo, whilst a local chef delights you with a cooking lesson, sharing recipes of many favourite dishes. These will be savored afterwards during our traditional dinner accompanied by free flowing wine. The festivity continues as we watch skilled dancers dressed in authentic costumes perform famous dances such as ‘Zeimbekiko’ and “Kalamatiano”. Delightful Chania and Rethymno

Today we’ll drive from Souda Port to lovely Chania for a guided walking tour of this fascinating port. The second-largest town on Greece’s largest island, Chania is the lively capital of the western half of Crete. We'll stroll the Venetian streets and visit the Mosque of the Janissaries and the Splantzia Quarter for unique boutiques. Then, we'll drive to captivating Rethymnon, famed for its Medieval architecture and its lovely Venetian port. We'll visit the old city with our expert guide, who will reveal the city's enchanting secrets. Afterwards, you’ll have a chance to stroll about Rethymnon on your own for shopping and coffee before we return to port.

Panoramic Ios, Skarkos, Chora & Maganari Beach

Traveling from the port of Ios, we'll visit Skarkos, a prehistoric settlement from the early Cycladic period. Archeologists have found metal, bone and stone utensils -evidence of a very complex society. We'll leave Skarkos for Chora, one of the most picturesque villages in the Cyclades, where you’ll enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the harbour. Then we'll stroll the main thoroughfare, packed with unique boutiques, lively cafes and traditional tavernas. From Chora we'll drive to magnificent Manganari Beach. Known for its soft, golden sand and transparent, aquamarine waters. Enjoy a snack in a lovely tavern, or challenge yourself with a variety of water sports, particularly windsurfing. Asklepion, Zia and the Platane Of Hipocrates

We start with a visit to the Asklepion, a health and healing center built in the 4th century and dedicated to Asklepios, son of Apollo and the god of healing. Hippocrates, the father of medicine, developed and practiced many of the healing methods we still use today here. Then, we'll depart for the lovely mountain village of Zia, popular for arts and crafts, local herbs, thyme honey and gastronomy. Finally, we'll walk through Kos Town to the Archeological Museum to see Hellenistic and Roman sculptures including a statue of Hippocrates. On our way back to port we'll stop at the Platane (Platanos) tree of Hippocrates, where he instructed his students in healing and medicine more than 2500 years ago.

Step Back In Time

Step back in time with us on the incredible volcanic island of Milos, one of the most beautiful places on earth. A short drive takes us to Sarakiniko, an inlet of pure white almost lunar stone. This startlingly otherworldly spot is one of the island’s many wonders and one of the most photographed places in the Cyclades. We'll continue along the dramatic coastline to the cobblestone streets and alleys of Plaka, a classic Cycladic village of white stone houses and bougainvillea flowers. Then, it's off to the ruins of ancient Melos and its Roman amphitheater, which is cut into a rocky slope near the ancient agora. Finally, we'll visit the award-winning Mining Museum to understand how the rich geology of Milos shaped the island’s history.

Ancient Mycenae, Epidaurus and Nafplion

Join us for a fantastic tour of the ancient city of Mycenae, a fortified Bronze Age palace that played a vital role in the development of classical Greek culture – both Mycenae and nearby Tiryns are linked to The Iliad and The Odyssey and are UNESCO World Heritage sites. Then we depart for incredible Epidaurus, famed for its spectacular theater, the most beautiful and best-preserved of all of the ancient theaters in Greece. Epidaurus is also known throughout the Hellenistic world for its Sanctuary, a therapeutic and religious center dedicated to Asklepios. Finally, we'll return to Nafplion, where you’ll have free time to shop and stroll before returning to the ship.

Medieval Tour - Acropolis Of Lindos And The Citadel Of The Knights

We visit Lindos, the jewel of Rhodes, situated 55 km (40 miles) from the port and the city of Rhodes. Ascend the Acropolis of Lindos, with the ancient Temple of Athena, and marvel at the spectacular views of St Pauls Bay and the beautiful Aegean Sea below. In the village below see the captains’ mansions, and Church of the Virgin Mary of Lindos, with frescoes from the 15th century. Returning to Rhodes town, we see the medieval walls and walk on to the best preserved Medieval Street, the Street of the Knights.

Pythagoras' Island And Its Diverse Beauty

Samos, the land of Pythagoras and Epicurus is in full bloom. Its fertile soil also produces world-renowned aromatic Muscat wine. Our drive begins in Vathy, and we'll soon arrive at the Samos Wine Museum. We'll tour the impressive museum and learn about the steps needed to produce Muscat, which reigns supreme over this land. Traveling south, we'll reach the Monastery of Panagia Spilian, the reputed location of the Cave of Pythagoras where the great mathematician operated his philosophical school. We'll conclude in the town of Pythagoreio, a vivid and beautifully maintained village where you'll have time for exploration, walks and shopping.

Spectacular Oia Village Perched On The Caldera Rim

First we'll visit Megalochori, one of the most authentic and unspoiled villages of the island. Continuing east, we'll pass through settlements like Kamari, Monolithos and Fira and experience unsurpassed panoramic views. Arriving in Oia, you'll have plenty of time to stroll through the marble-paved alleys, gaze at the adorably cute shops, take pictures, and become acquainted with the characteristic buildings, carved into the rocks. As well as the unusual captains’ manors, the settlement Ammoudi at the foot of the caldera.

Panoramic Syros

The port of Ermopouli in Syros is the capital of the Cyclades and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Our tour takes you to Anastasi Church to enjoy breathtaking views of Tinos and Mykonos. From Anastasi, we drive through beach villages to the Agia Varvara (Santa Barbara) Monastery to see stunning embroideries. Then, we stop at a traditional loukoumi factory to see how loukoumi, also known as Turkish delight, is made. Returning to Ermopouli, we’ll visit the Holy Cathedral of the Dormition of the Virgin to see El Greco’s famous painting and then the Apollon Theater, the first opera house in Greece. We conclude our tour in the center of Ermopouli, at the town hall, adjacent to interesting shops and atmospheric cafes.
