Walk in the footsteps of Prague’s Bohemian Kings and fall under the spell of Český Krumlov. Explore the legacy of the Habsburgs in Vienna and Budapest.

  1. Day 1

    Welcome to Vienna

At Vienna Airport, transfers for your hotel will leave at 10:00, 13:00 & 15:00. The Austrian capital is famous for coffee and delicious pastries so, why not stroll to a local café? Later, meet your Tour Director for a Welcome Reception and an opportunity to mingle over a pleasant evening of dinner and wine.

  2. Day 2

Charming Český Krumlov and Golden Prague

Once over the Czech border, head for picturesque Český Krumlov where you'll start with a brief orientation tour of this fairy-tale town, straight out of the Middle Ages. Enjoy some free time to explore and appreciate views of the Vltava River. Wander through the cobblestone, traffic-free streets, past colourful houses that lead up to the finest castle in the land. In the afternoon, continue through the green Bohemian countryside to Golden Prague.

  3. Day 3 - Relaxed Start

Prague, City of a Hundred Spires

(Relaxed Start) Join a Local Expert for a guided visit to one of the most beautiful and intact historical centres in Europe. Start with the 1,000-year-old Prague Castle, where you can admire the stained glass of St. Vitus Cathedral and take in amazing views over the Old Town. Finish in the Old Town Square where the mechanical antics of the Astronomical Clock's glockenspiel delight onlookers each hour. Later, your Freestyle Evening offers you the ultimate in dining choices!

  4. Day 4

Reflect on Auschwitz then on to Kraków

Enjoy a gentle drive through the stunning Czech landscapes before crossing into Poland where you will stop at Oświęcim, better known by its German name of ‘Auschwitz'. A guided visit to the memorial and museum of Auschwitz and a stop at Birkenau bears witness to the terrible atrocities of the Holocaust.

  5. Day 5

The Damsels and Dragons of Kraków

Journey into a glistening subterranean world at the 600-year-old Wieliczka salt mines. In a maze of tunnels deep below the surface, witness unique salt sculptures, sunken lakes and even a glorious cathedral carved entirely out of rock salt by the miners themselves. Back in Kraków, join a Local Expert for a morning tour. Ascend Wawel Hill to visit the cathedral. Walk past the courtyard of Jagiellonian University through the Old Town, to Europe's largest and most beautiful town square. See the medieval Cloth Hall and visit the 14th century St. Mary's Church (keep your eyes and ears peeled for the trumpeter in the tower). In the evening, choose from a selection of restaurants on your Dine-Around Evening.

  6. Day 6

    Through Sleepy Slovakia to Budapest

Journey into the Slovakian region of Orava, where villagers still live in traditional wooden houses. See the picturesque Oravský Hrad Castle before continuing through the breathtaking Low Tatra Mountains. Cross into Hungary to arrive in Budapest. In the evening, dine at the elegant Gundel restaurant.

  7. Day 7 - Relaxed Start

Budapest, the Queen of the Danube

(Relaxed Start) Venture into the heart of Buda's medieval Castle District with a Local Expert to visit Matthias Church and take in the vista from the Fisherman's Bastion. Cross the Danube to the Pest district to visit Heroes' Square and drive down elegant Andrássy Boulevard. Then enjoy time in the Central Market Hall - its three storeys packed with aromatic food stalls offering Hungarian salamis, spicy paprika and sweet Tokaji wines. In the evening, cruise the mighty Danube followed by a delicious dinner.

  8. Day 8

    Stately Vienna and the Habsburgs

Cross the border and move on to stately Vienna to join a Local Expert for a private tour of Maria Theresa's Schönbrunn Palace and formal gardens. Then get your camera ready for a drive around the ring road. This grand boulevard, built along the lines of the old city walls, showcases many of the capital's architectural masterpieces, including the Opera House, the magnificent Hofburg Imperial Residence and Parliament building. As night falls, experience an extraordinary concert of Viennese classical music. The best-loved works of Johann Strauss and Mozart, performed by highly acclaimed soloists and dancers, are combined with a delicious meal of traditional Austrian fare, with drinks included.

Trip: Itinerary was well planned out and the local guides were very good. Perhaps they only improvement could've been that the focus seemed to be on churches and palaces. Would have liked to see some more local things with the guide.

Service: The trip was well planned, informative, and fun. Even though it was all inclusive we ate at local restaurants, not at hotels, which was important to us. It had the right balance of a scheduled tour time and the tendon time. The tour guide was very pleasant, approachable and knowledgeable. We will definitely book with this company again.

  • 23 October, 2017

Trip: very disappointed that our local guide took us the long way down to Prague castle when there was a shorter way. I wanted to spend more time on the castle grounds and that would have happened if the guide hadnt stopped at every building.. plus there were 3 people who had some minor physical problems that the shorter way would have been better for. It wasn't suggested. I truthfully just felt rushed on this whole trip! I did enjoy having time to shop and eat at the little cafes in the town squares, but more time at the attractions please!

Service: Entire booking of trip went very smoothly

Trip: Would have preferred to cut some of the travel out. I would have liked to fly into Vienna, spend a day there and then at the end fly out of Budapest. Going back to Vienna seemed like a waste of time.

Service: Overall, a good tour. The hotels in Prague and Krakow were not as luxury as I was expecting. But I would recommend this tour to others.

Trip: It was a simpler way to travel parts of Europe that use different languages and currencies. The places we visited were very interesting, and the tours were great. The headphone system provided was great, very easy to hear what was going on even when a few steps away from the guide.

Service: Brianna was an excellent guide and was efficient and kind all the time.
