You&#8217;ll find easy-to-make recipes along with videos from our favorite chefs from Spain, England, and Italy.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This week, Chef Llorens Ferr\u00eds from\u00a0<\/span><\/em><a class=\"_e75a791d-denali-editor-page-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lacigrona.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">la Cigrona Restaurant<\/span><\/em><\/a><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0shares his recipe for a traditional fare from Valencia, Spain. An alternative to the more famous paella, arroz al horno is a staple of every Valencian home, and we hope it will become of yours too.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Arroz al Horno (Baked Rice)<\/span><\/h2>\n<h5><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Ingredients (for 4 people)<\/span><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">1.2l of beef, vegetable or chicken stock<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">4 onions<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">4 Black pudding or blood sausages\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">4 white sausages<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">4 slices of bacon\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">2 large potatoes<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">4 Medium tomatoes, sliced in halves<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Tomato sauce\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Precooked chickpeas, quantity to taste\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sultanas raisins, quantity to taste<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Flat green beans, quantity to taste, chopped roughly<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">600gr. round grain rice<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">1 head of garlic Salt<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Olive oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Natural saffron, in strands or powdered<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Equipment:<\/span><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">large frying pan<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">a large, shallow and oven-proof clay pan<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n<h5><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Directions:<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Start by preparing your stock, then add the saffron and let it infuse. Put it aside for later.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Next, prepare your ingredients: First, chop the green beans roughly, peel the potatoes and cut them into thick slices, and chop the bacon into 4cm thick pieces.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In a large frying pan, pour a generous amount of olive oil. Once hot, fry the potatoes, green beans, bacon, all sausages, tomatoes, and full garlic head separately. When done, keep the pan with the olive oil and let it cool.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In the meantime, slice the white and black sausages\/pudding into 3cm thick slices and pre-heat your oven at 180<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00b0\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">celsius<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\/\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">350<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00b0<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Fahrenheit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Reheat the oil in your frying pan, then add 3 tablespoons of the tomato sauce and the rice and mix well. Saut\u00e9 together for a few minutes, raising the heat as needed until the rice is coated with the oil and tomato sauce. Then add a half a cup of broth mix again, pour the rice into the clay pan, and spread it evenly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Now, add all the ingredients onto the rice in an even and orderly manner, starting with the chickpeas and raisins, green beans, tomatoes, potatoes, bacon, the sausages\/pudding, and the garlic head at the center.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Once done, use a slotted spoon, and carefully pour the rest of the stock, so the ingredients don&#8217;t move.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">And finally, transfer the clay pan into the oven and let cook for 45 to 60 minutes. After 40 or 45 minutes, check that the rice is golden.
