I come from a whole family of travelers, where the women were just as adventurous as the men. With this spirit of adventure ingrained in my soul, I couldn\u2019t be happier for my friends at Insight Vacations to launch their new\u00a0<\/span><\/span>women-only tour<\/span><\/span>\u00a0to\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Venice & the Croatian Coast<\/span><\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Although\u00a0<\/span>they were not in front of the camera,\u00a0<\/span>the women in my family\u00a0<\/span>were\u00a0<\/span>embarking on adventures such as trekking through the Amazonian\u00a0<\/span>rainforest<\/span>, sailing to Antarctica on a wooden vessel and meeting indigenous chiefs and world leaders.\u00a0<\/span>The women in my life have taught me travel is limitless.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That<\/span>\u00a0sense of<\/span>\u00a0wanderlust is shared among many women, and o<\/span>ver the years<\/span>, the popularity of women traveling on their own or in groups with fellow female companions has grow<\/span>n. W<\/span>ith the world opening back up<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0we\u2019re certain this trend is here to stay.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s why\u00a0<\/span>I am thrilled\u00a0<\/span>to join Insight\u2019s new\u00a0<\/span>Wander Women journey<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>Venice & the Croatian Coast<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span>The<\/span>se women-only tours\u00a0<\/span>have been created for women and by women, with the simple goal of empowering female travelers on inclusive trips that celebrate women\u2019s successes from around the world.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

A\u00a0<\/span><\/span>key\u00a0<\/span><\/span>aspect of this journey and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>all Wander Women trips<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0is\u00a0<\/span><\/span>showing you the sights you\u2019ve always wanted to see while also introducing you to\u00a0<\/span><\/span>experiences that Make Travel Matter<\/span><\/span><\/a>. As an ambassador for\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Insight\u2019s non<\/span><\/span>-profit\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Tread<\/span><\/span>R<\/span><\/span>ight<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Foundation, we have a clear mission to make a positive impact on the people and communities we visit. The Make Travel Matter\u00a0<\/span><\/span>E<\/span><\/span>xperiences celebrate the women we encounter on Wander Women journeys\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>create an exciting platform for meaningful experiences. In particular, I am looking forward to experiencing the Fonda Fish Farm in Slovenia, the Tara Community Centre in Plitvice, and the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>HerSplit<\/span><\/span>\u00a0sightseeing in Split, on\u00a0<\/span><\/span>my\u00a0<\/span><\/span>upcoming journey to Croatia<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and the Dalmatian Coast.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To take a further look into the Fonda Fish Farm experience i<\/span><\/span>n Slovenia, I am most excited about meeting Irene Fonda, an award-winning biologist carrying out important conservation work in the Gulf of\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Piran<\/span><\/span>. We\u2019ll join her on a short boat ride to see her family\u2019s fish farm and learn about their way of life, breeding sustainable\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Piran<\/span><\/span>\u00a0sea bass of the highest quality. Women like Irene inspired me to become a documentary film producer years ago. I feel it is so important to amplify the stories of successful women, who not only support their local community, but also support the planet by seeing how protecting the environment will sustain humanity for years to come. Irene is an example that we can, and must, support the local economy while creating sustainable business choices. Simply put, people and nature can thrive together.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On another Make Travel Matter\u00a0<\/span><\/span>E<\/span><\/span>xperience on this journey, we\u2019ll meet the industrious women of the Tara Community Centre, who have created a special place to preserve their traditions through funds generated by producing local handicrafts. The women here educate visitors about their culture and share their personal stories with great passion. The experience fosters an undeniable connection between the traveler and the local women, and as I have witnessed in my own travels, these become the moments we never forget. Deeply human and personal connections transcend borders, cultures and countries.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

For a deeper dive into sightseeing through a woman\u2019s lens in Croatia, we will join\u00a0<\/span>HerSplit<\/span>. We will explore this city with a Local Expert from the Domine organization to uncover the stories of the women who helped shape Split\u2019s history, yet who often go unnoticed in the pages of history books. It\u2019s our job to hear these women\u2019s stories and to share them with our friends and family back home after our Wander Women journey concludes. Celebrating the women who were essential in building of a place and culture is critical to fully understanding a destination. Through this experience we have the privilege of witnessing and celebrating their stories.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

By joining this\u00a0<\/span>women-only\u00a0<\/span>tour<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>with me, you can be a part of the story yourself, meeting fellow travelers and sharing a little about yourself for us to discover.
