Roman antiquities, saintly Assisi, Venetian canals, Renaissance Florence and Capri's brilliant sunlight are brought together in this superb tour of Italy, with the option to end in Naples or Rome.

  1. Day 1

    Rome the 'Eternal City'

Enjoy your complimentary private VIP door-to-door transfer to your UK departure airport. Welcome to Rome, a glorious city filled with classical antiquities, medieval buildings, Renaissance palaces and Baroque churches. Transfers depart from Rome's Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci Airport for the tour hotel at 09:30, 12:30 & 15:30. In the evening, join your Tour Director for a Welcome Reception and uniquely Roman Welcome Dinner.

  2. Day 2

VIP Vatican and Rome with a Local

The day is devoted to the ‘Eternal City'. Join a Local Expert for an in-depth visit to the Vatican Museums, full of priceless art treasures collected by the Popes. Insight has arranged special VIP entrance to avoid the crowds, together with behind-the-scenes access to the Bramante Staircase - a marvel of Renaissance architecture normally off-limits to the general public. Now into the Sistine Chapel, where the Popes are elected to admire Michelangelo's famous ceiling. Next door in St. Peter's Basilica, wonder at another of his works, the emotive ‘Pietà', and stand beneath the dome completed after his death. There's free time to do as the Romans do, or perhaps join a tour inside the Colosseum? Rome is about art, antiquity, piazzas and pizzazz, and our included walking tour this afternoon has it in abundance. Toss a coin into the spectacular Trevi Fountain, see the Pantheon, the best preserved monument from the Roman period, and enjoy free time for dinner in Piazza Navona.

  3. Day 3

    Renaissance Florence

Travel north through glorious Tuscan landscapes to reach renaissance Florence. On arrival, enjoy a delicious exploration of Tuscany's red wines, their robust flavours and absorbing history.

  4. Day 4

    Florence Sightseeing

Join an art historian for a walking tour of the historic city centre. A highlight is the visit to the Accademia Gallery to study Michelangelo's monumental statue, David. Continue to the multi-coloured marble cathedral to admire Giotto's bell tower and ‘Gates of Paradise'. Visit the Piazza della Signoria, still the political heart of Florence and the area around Santa Croce Basilica - famous for the quality of its luxury goods. After a demonstration of leather-work, there's free time to shop or continue sightseeing. In the evening, don't miss the chance to sample the fine Florentine cuisine - tasty starters and rich pastas accompanied by Chianti wine.

  5. Day 5

Pisa to Venice, the 'Queen of the Adriatic'

Journey to the coastal town of Pisa to see the famous Leaning Tower. Continue through the marshes of the Venetian Lagoon and across the causeway to the unique city of Venice.

  6. Day 6 - Relaxed Start

Venice and the Magic of ‘La Serenissima’.

(Relaxed Start) Your private launch awaits you in the morning, ready to cruise past Palladian churches and 13th century palaces to St. Mark's Square. The first sight is the pink marble of the Doge's Palace, connected to the prisons by the Bridge of Sighs. It was from here that Casanova made his daring escape. Turn the corner, and the gilded regalia of St. Mark's Basilica comes into view. A visit to an arts centre on Giudecca Island will allow you to admire the age-old skill of glassblowing. Later, board a traditional gondola for a serenade through the romantic canals.

  7. Day 7 - Relaxed Start

Into the Hills of Umbria to Assisi

(Relaxed Start) Leave Venice and continue through the Appennines to peaceful Assisi, one of Italy's most beautiful mountain towns. In the valley, see the famous Church of St. Mary of the Angels, much venerated as the place of St. Francis' death, then continue up Mount Subasio to the upper town. With your Local Expert, step inside the huge Basilica of St. Francis, built in the 13th century, where the frescoes by Giotto heralded a new era in Italian art.

  8. Day 8

    Cassino and Sorrento

An early start today as you travel southwards past Cassino, scene of a fierce battle in World War II. Follow the spectacular clifftop road to the picturesque resort of Sorrento. On arrival, investigate the art of ‘intarsio' or marquetry wood inlaying before continuing to your hotel.

  9. Day 9

    Capri, the Isle of Dreams

In the morning, cruise to Isle of Capri. Under the Mediterranean sun, take a funicular ride up to Capri town where your Local Expert will take you around the narrow alleyways, to browse in exclusive boutiques and enjoy the views over the Tyrrhenian Sea. Perhaps join an optional cruise around the Island of Capri? Descend to the port in one of the island's iconic open-top taxis and return to Sorrento for some relaxation time. At night, join your fellow guests for an unforgettable Celebration Dinner of delicious Italian cuisine and wine.

  10. Day 10

    Head for Rome

In the morning, journey to Pompeii, the opulent Roman town which was preserved by layers of ash from the disastrous eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD79. A walk with a Local Expert through the cobbled streets and extensive excavations reveals the daily life of Roman civilisation. Visit the Forum and peer into ancient shops and patrician villas, decorated with colourful wall paintings. Then continue on to your hotel in Rome.

  11. Day 11

    Arrivederci Rome

Departure transfers arrive at Rome's Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci Airport at approximately 07:00 & 09:30. On arrival at your UK airport, your driver will greet and escort you to your waiting car for your return private VIP transfer home.

    My first trip to Europe

10/24/2016 Catherine Prefontaine, North Vancouver, Canada

As this was my first trip to Europe, I was a little skeptical about booking an organized tour however my expectations were more than exceeded! Our trip to Italy started out with a 3 day excursion to Cinque Terre (a must see) which was great to get used to the nine hour time difference and see some of the beauty of these charming villages before joining our tour group in Rome! From the first dinner and meeting our group and tour guide Belinda Richardson, the fun and adventures began! It was so nice to travel in such comfort and style in our Insight bus, have our luggage always taken care of and meal and rest stops always considered! Every seat from the bus had a great view! From the first sights of Rome, to Florence, Tuscany, Venice, Pisa, Assissi, Sorrento and finally Positano on the Amalfi coast, I couldn't believe how many sites we visited, all guided by Belinda and her incredibly talented driver Mari Rosa with such passion insight and knowledge! It was so nice to also take advantage of the optional excursions to truly get a feel for how the locals live with them sharing time with us and to learn more about some areas/sites we may not have seen otherwise. Our group was so much fun and by rotating seats at the start of each day, we ended up visiting and getting to know and learn more about our trip mates! This was a trip to remember and Belinda made it so ... she was always very considerate of everyone and did her best to romance and share her love of Italy - it was truly a place to fall in love with and definitely see again!

    Italy 2016

10/24/2016 Hal Thiede, Cudahy, United States

Insight and Fox World Travel arranged one of the best vacations we have ever had. We saw more in the ten days than we thought was possible. It was very well organized, and everything went off right on time. I don't know what else they could have done to make it better. If we go overseas again these two companies would definitely get our business.

    The best trip ever

10/16/2016 Hendrik Van Beerschoten, Peterborough (ON), Canada

ON September 30 we travelled with Alitalia from Toronto to Rome. Comfort seating was nice but service was most unfriendly and the spoken English language at time was difficult to understand. Arrived safe in Rome and after waiting for a few hours we had our service to our hotel. We met our tourguide Gary Junge and after briefing had a chat and could start with dinner and an evening tour Everyday was well planned and our tour guide was fantastic. Explained everything about history and geography to detail. If we plan another trip I would like to see Gary back on our trip. Our tourbus driver Franco, was well experienced and we had to applaud him a few times. Met some great friends and hated to see this trip come to an end. Flight by air France via Paris was very good. Service was very friendly and the steward we had spoke perfect English. A bit hectic with the transfer but in all we made it We would like to see in the future a two week trip in the Florence district for there is so much to see I will recommend the Insight Vacations to anybody !! We had a great time !!

    Best of Italy Oct1-11

10/14/2016 Pamela Van Beerschoten, Peterborough (ON), Canada

Absolutely loved the tour. Everything was taken care of down to the smallest detail. Gary Junge was amazing as our tour director and couldn't have been more helpful, even going to a pharmacy for cold medication. Franco was an amazing driver, very calm and friendly. We had total confidence in his driving. Would recommend this tour to anyone. We are already looking for our next adventure with Insight and would love to have the Gary/Franco team again. Fabulous Italy

10/3/2016 Lori Arenstein, New York, United States

We were on the Best Of Italy tour this September and we truly saw the best and more. Our tour director Christina Bader and our driver Marco Liviabella went above and beyond to make every member of our tour group happy. The members of our group became family and we not only enjoyed the sights, sounds and tastes of Italy, but also the time we spent together. The optional excursions were well worth the time and expense because we got to see and taste things we wouldn't have on our own. This was the first time we had heard of, and traveled with, Insight and we will definitely use you again after our wonderful experience.

    Best Tour Ever

10/3/2016 Rebecca Bray, Chandler, United States

I had been planning this trip for so long and was very nervous as to how it would go but after meeting everyone in the group and the tour director my nerves were put at ease. First off our tour director Christina was absolutely amazing! She was very knowledgeable about Italy and its history. She had everything planned out and had many surprises for us, or as she likes to call it "flourishes"! Everyone on this tour loved her and we were all trying to see what other tours she was going to be on cause we wanted her to be our tour guide. As for the Itinerary itself, it was very well laid out but very busy which I didn't mind. All the relaxed starts or free time were filled with the optional excursions which were nothing short of amazing. Most of the tour group did just about all the optional excursions. Each tour guide that was arranged to walk us through Italy was very knowledgeable and lived in the city in which they were showing us. As far as accommodations go they were nice (not that you were there very much) The fact that our luggage was taken care of and we didn't have to take it to and from the bus was convenient. This trip was a once and a life time kind of trip and I loved every bit of it. I wish the trip didn't have to end. I would defiantly recommend this trip to anyone looking to explore Italy in great detail and have a lot of fun.

    Best of Italy July 2015

7/20/2015 Gevarani Reddy, Durban, South Africa

This was my 2nd tour with insightvacations. What a memorable holiday. Thanks to our knowledgeable tour director, Federicka Nadini, we've had a superb holiday. Even though we did about 95% of the optional tours, she still made time for us to shop. The old school architecture was the highlight of my trip -especially the hill top town of Spello. It was like taking a walk through a fairy tale. The hotels are on the small side but centrally located allowing us to walk to the restaurants & shops. Don't expect tea/coffee making facilities in the hotel rooms though. Only the hotel in Rome had this facility. The only optional tour that I was a little disappointed with was the drive to Positano & the Amalfi coast. It was just that -A DRIVE. I would have loved to get to know a little more about the history of the town, Assisi was amazing. It is not as busy as Florence, Rome or Venice but absolutely tranquil. Pity we only spent 1 night in Assisi . I've met some amazing people on the tour. Even got to learn Aussie talk from my fellow Australian buddy. but overall, if I had to do it again -I DEFINITELY WILL. Rani Reddy Durban - South Africa

    taly with Kathy Cecchini

7/18/2015 Adulia Wright, Las Vegas, United States

Italy was great! The trip with Kathy was elevated to a higher level with her exuberant personality and extra "touches" to personalize the tour at regular intervals over the 2 weeks. Places visited were well considered to provide a true sense of Italy. The only negative was the "extra excursions"....seems to be a hidden way to increase the cost of the tour.

    The Best

    6/24/2015 Julia Acree, Lethbridge, Canada

This was the first time travelling with Insight. We had a great time. We do not have any complaints at all about our vacation in Italy with Insight. It was so well organized. Our tour director was Ernesta Fae, and she was wonderful. Not only was she knowledgeable about the history, but she was very personable - very warm. She was also very helpful when it was needed. We absolutely loved her. The places and sights that we saw were so varied, which we liked. The bus was comfortable, the service and hotels where we stayed were great. We will definitely travel with Insight again. Dave and Julie Acree

    Fabulous trip

6/16/2015 Julia Schrader, Alden, United States

My husband and I did the Best of Italy tour from May 29-June 8. It was our first trip to Europe, and what a wonderful experience! Beatrice, our tour director was wonderful--knowledgeable and organized, yet very friendly and entertaining. The number of activities packed into those 10 days was amazing. We did many of the optional experiences and loved all of them, especially "Magical Venice" and the Tuscan dinner. It was wonderful to be able to avoid lines at popular locations, and to be able to visit sites that are not normally available to the public. Local guides and are driver, Antonio, were also excellent. Even the weather was perfect. It was a fabulous trip!

    Awe Inspiring

6/14/2015 Dona Eveatt, Fallon, United States

Assisi, Sorrento & Venice were three of my favorite stops in our tour of Italy. Historical, beautiful and so different from my home state in the U.S. Walked 33.5 miles in one week ---mostly uphill --- or at least it felt that way.! Our tour director, Beatrice Richichi, was the best person to guide us (& I have been on several other guided tours). She was knowledgeable, friendly to everyone, made personal connections with us all (35) and had a great sense of humor. She could be a stand-up comedian if she decides to change careers. I would give her the highest rating -a 10!! There was not enough time at the Vatican to read any material under or alongside the many artifacts - felt rushed. Pisa was ok but the "aggressive" vendors ruined that trip. Would rather use that travel time to see something else or spend more time elsewhere. Loved Italy, a most beautiful country! Thank you Beatrice and Insight. Dona E.

Susan and I had a great time. As repeat customers of Insight we were not disappointed. Our host Daniele Nannetti was outstanding! He was everywhere at the same time and he cared about our well being and he did a demanding job with great skill and grace! The great ones always make it look easy and Daniele is a great one. My wife and I are 2nd generation Italian Americans and this was the trip, as well as Sicily three years ago, to see where our grand parents came from so there was a lot of emotion involved also. I would recommend Insight anyone and we will be traveling with you again in the future. Thanks for the memories! Tony & Susan DiMatteo

    Our trip to Italy

5/4/2015 Frances Haislip, Raleigh, United States

Our trip was wonderful! Pam Burns at AAA did a fantastic job sharing the different tours that were available to us. She also made recommendations that helped us make our decision on which tour to take. Our tour director, Anna Targett was outstanding! She knew so much history about all of the areas that we visited and made our trip so much more enjoyable. The cities and locations that we visited will be unforgettable! This is a trip we will always cherish!

If you want to see Italty and see it right.. Insight is the way to do it. This tour was non stop. But we saw everything we wanted to see and more .......Tour Director Shona had so many tips and tricks that we would have not known otherwise.....her knowledge of Italy blew our minds. She recommended Where to eat, Where to shop, etc.........you didn't have the stress of driving getting lost and long line ups ....... For us it was a trip of a lifetime.

    Tour Guide, Anne Kennedy

6/2/2014 Jeanne Kirchner, Tucson, United States

I am unsure if my review was received by you so I am sending it again. We had a wonderful trip to Italy in no small part due to the talents and personality of our tour director, Anne Kennedy. By the end of the tour, she was being called "Mama Anne" by most of us. She was organized, always accounting for everyone in the group on each expedition. She made all the arrangements of hotels, restaurants, tours and tour guides, tranfers, etc. seemless and she was always accomodating to the few that had any complaints. She had excellent knowledge of Italy and picked tour guides for each excursion with knowledge of that particular place (the Vatican, Venice, etc.). She was caring toward everyone on the tour and she has a very magnetic and engaging personality. I will look for her as a tour guide for future tours with Insight. Great trip!!

    Easter in Italy

    5/10/2014 Susan Rhynold, London, Canada

We had a wonderful tour. It was our first bus tour and had concerns about being able to spend enough time at certain places and people dynamics, all that was unfounded. Had lots of fun. Marc was our tour director and he was unfailingly friendly, respectful, professional and knowledgeable. Because we were in Rome over Easter (huge crowds everywhere) many adjustments needed to be made to our schedule. Marc kept us up dated and told us "don't worry, that is my job to make sure you see everything". So we didn't worry and sat back and enjoyed.

    Beyond Our Expectations

4/29/2014 Maribel Guzman, Jacksonville, United States

To visit Italy had been my life long dream. So when I turned 50, I told my husband this is the year I am going to Italy. I booked the trip with Insight Vacations through an experienced travel agent. My husband and I were excited to do the tour because we knew we were going to have a great time. We were in for a treat! The tour was fabulous, and we had an absolutely wonderful, amazing time! We felt like royalty. Our coach driver, Marco, and our tour guide, Barbara are the best!! You guys rock! Thank you, Insight. This is indeed an experience of a lifetime. I am very happy.

Thank you INSIGHT and GO AHEAD TOURS !

4/21/2014 Alberto Barros, Hiawassee, United States

First impressions....everybody knows the old adage. But how true it is. This was our first escorted tour and we are totally impressed with how easy everything was for us once Kim, our travel agent, booked this Insight tour for us. Your time can be totally devoted to enjoying your holiday. Our Tour Director, Lorena and Coach Driver, Benito are top notch professionals that really know their business. The Motor Coach was superbly comfortable. The optional excursions (we did all of them)were like an extra mini-holiday for a reasonable price. They allow you to experience the flavor of Italy more fully. All in all we were very satisfied with Insight and would not hesitate to join one of their tours in the future.

    Best of Italy

12/10/2013 Laura Laprade, Harrisville, United States

This past October 2013 , I was fortunate enough to experience the Tour of a life time! (The Best of Italy) I made friends with 38 WONDERFUL people! We became family. Our tour Guide Mick and our Bus Driver Marko were phenomenal! They were both culturally and Spiritually experienced. The nice thing is we arrived in a timely manner for our tours so we did not waste our days standing in lines. The tours were quite informative and historical. The cities rich with history and culture. I am returning to Europe with my Son next year! Thank you Marco and Mick for the chance of a life time!

    Best of Italy, Oct 2013

11/5/2013 Karen Morgan, Warner Robins, United States

I had been dreaming about a trip to Italy for awhile. We started looking at brochures for tours and after our travel agent recommended Insight, we decided we would go with them. It was the right decision!! Our tour was basically perfect~ We honestly felt that we had stepped into a postcard in Italy. I could go on and on about Italy, but I am writing a review on Insight so..... First, would I travel with Insight again? You bet!! I can't say enough about our tour director Viviana. She was the reason the trip was so good. Her personality, her organization, her contacts and every thing she chose for us was first rate. She went above and beyond to make sure this trip was perfect for us...

Best of Italy tour- October 2013

10/30/2013 Dominick Bogaski, Maryville, United States

We were wanting a tour where someone else planned everything and did the driving. This tour allowed us to see as much as possible, I believe, for our money. We started in Rome, then to Assisi, Venice, Florence, and Sorrento. Everything went like clockwork, but it did require that we get up and going early each morning, in order to beat the crowds. We had minimal to no waiting to see everything. We stayed in nice hotels, for the most part,in the heart of the cities we were in, except Assisi, where we stayed in a Best Western hotel that was brand new, and in the middle of nowhere, because the hotel where we were supposed to stay, was booked. The booked hotel left us a letter, and a bottle of wine, apologizing for the inconvenience. No problem! Our tour guide, Gigi, was fun, and informative, and we felt like family. She said she loved her job, and it showed. I would want to have her again, if we go on another Insight Vacation, which I highly recommend. Our driver, Angelo, was top notch, getting us through roads I wouldn't want to drive a car through. The bus was pretty comfortable, and Angelo was always there to get us to our next stop, even though he didn't speak English, which I thought was odd. Sorrento was the highlight of the trip, with a drive up to Positano, with its switchback roads, and very scenic views. The day we went to The Isle of Capri, it rained, spoiling our visit, so we left early. The optionals are pricey, and not always worth the money, but that may be a personal preference. We used our credit card for most of our purchases, but wound up paying for a transaction fee for EACH use. I'd recommend taking more cash, to avoid the fees. The group of people on our tour really made it great, and we now have friends to visit from all over. All in all, a wonderful experience!!

    49th wedding anniversary

    10/20/2013 Donald Boudreau, Halifax, Canada

First time booking with Insight. Pleased with the tour overall. All sites and activities were completed as advertised. Weather was wet on Capri but everyone (including the guide) adjusted and we all enjoyed the tour. What was special to us was our 49th wedding anniversary. When filling in pre tour info we mentioned that it was our anniversary and then didn't think too much about it, in particular with a group of strangers. On the actual day (Oct. 10th) we were surprised with a cake, a singer at a nice restaurant and all these strangers (after a few days) were friends. Something to remember !! A special thanks to our Tour Director (Gi Gi) to make this happen. A very positive experience, great holiday and we will certainly consider Insight for any future tours. Kay and Don Boudreau

    Best of Italy...Best Title

10/14/2013 Ladonna Yaussy, Charleston, United States

My husband and I feel privileged that we got to travel to Italy and thought Insight did a great job with the itinerary. We truly saw the "best" of the country during the ten day tour. We spent time in Rome, Venice, Assisi, Pisa, Florence Sorrento and Pompei with options to take side trips to places like San Gimignano, Positano and Isle of Capris. All of our breakfasts were included as well as several nice dinners...lunches were always on our own. We appreciated the free time we had on the trip to make our own plans but always enjoyed being with the group for scheduled excursions and traveling. The legroom on the coach was unbelievable and the seats were so comfortable that I had no trouble napping during the days when we traveled longer distances. We also appreciated the reasonably priced water bottles for sale on the bus. Last year my husband and I traveled with a different tour company and even though we had a very lovely time with them, when I compare them with Insight I have to say you offered a step above that experience. The legroom on their bus was crowded, the seats weren't as comfortable and they didn't provide water bottles on the coach. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Insight Vacations to our friends. Thank you for a delightful and unforgettable vacation!!

    Great Tour

    10/12/2013 Jelena Bryce, Londonderry, Australia

Wow, our Best of Italy Tour proved to be the best pick. Our Travel Director was amazing, our driver was precise and extremely careful. The bus was perfect and had plenty of leg room for my 6ft 6in tall husband. Only having 40 passengers also meant we were on and off the bus very quickly making the most of the time available visiting all the sites. We saw a lot of Italy in a short time but it was enough to encourage us to return again. Having local guides at different sites also meant we got the "local" tour, all of which proved extremely interesting. A great holiday.

    Great tour, Great tour director

10/9/2013 Denman Tabiando, Seattle, United States

Great experience for us. Francesca was wonderful as a guide, historian and "mother" to the 40 of us. She took care of us throughout the tour and made us feel like family. The bus was very roomy with a lot of leg room and the hotel accomodations were first class, especially in Sorrento. City tours were arrange to avoid big crowds, especially having the fast lane entry. Overall, great tour.

    Tour Guide

9/22/2013 Carl Conrad, Massillon, United States

I believe that our tour guide Mich Parsons was excellent. Our group was very diverse but by the last few days everyone came to gather and we had a great time. Only reason I would not give it a 5 stars was that starting our on a Sunday and the Vatican Tour being closed it put a lot of time on everyone for the next day. Doing the Vatican and Assisi was way to much would rather of had more time in Assisi and done the Vatican at the end. Otherwise excellent tour. Thank you Greg and Randi Conrad

    Fantastic!!!

8/9/2013 Ronda Tosev, Narre Warren South, Australia

Hi all. I went on the Best of Italy tour in July 2013. Our tour leader was Terri who was absolutely fantastic. I cant imagine having a better tour leader. She was kind, funny, extremely knowledgable, always helpful and always smiling. Our actual tour was brilliant. I really don't know how it was done but every day of the tour topped the day before, when you thought you had the most amazing day possible...bang..the next day was even better!! My on piece of advice is do all the extras!! Just count them in your budget..mine was about an extra 45 Euro a day and worth every single cent. You sometimes feel like you need a rest but just keep going and don't miss anything..you can rest at night cos you are always back to your hotel by about 9 or 9:30. You can kick on with a few drinks if you choose to or go and get an early night, ready for the next day. I think we all got pretty exhausted as the weather was so hot so be prepared for that if you go in summer. We never had to queue, we had priority entrance everywhere we went. I chose the middle price bracket tour which was perfect. All our accommodation was in fantastic locations and were lovely. The breakfasts were beautiful, the included meals were plentiful and great experiences. I can not recommend this tour highly enough. If you are lucky enough to have Terri as your tour leader you are in for a treat although I am sure they are all great guides. Terri only does a couple of tours a year now as she has a young family. I hope you take my advice and book a tour!!! You will not ever regret it:):) Ronda

    Absolutely Amazing!

7/22/2013 Jacqueline Weston, Narre Warren South, Australia

Our "Best of Italy" tour was perfect from start to finish. We are an Australian family of four, two adults and two teenage children. The tour was for 10 nights. Our guide was Belinda who was terrific. She was an Australian lady living in Italy and her knowledge of the places we visited was outstanding. She was very friendly and nothing was a problem for her. My husband and I thought the whole tour was very professionally run. The places we visited were stunning, there weren’t too many people on the tour and getting into the attractions quicker than the general public was excellent (especially in peak season). Even my teenage children loved it. I was a little concerned that there wasn’t going to be any other teenagers on the tour, but there were about ten which was great. We honestly couldn’t fault anything. The hotels were amazing and in great locations. The bus was extremely comfortable. The optional excursions were well worth it, and let’s face it… Italy is just Bellissimo!

    Holiday of a lifetime

7/19/2013 Alma Harradine, St Peter Port, Guernsey

Italy was so beautiful, at times quite overwhelming. Rome was just incredible something special around every corner I found it a very spiritual place not only in the Vatican City but in general, there is so much history there it really gives you a bit of a wake up call and a reminder of just how far we have evolved since then. Venice, no matter how many times you have seen it on TV or in magazines (or in James Bond films!)nothing matches seeing it for the first time sat on a a boat going into the Gondala Quay and as for the Gondola ride through the canals and under the bridges - mind blowing!! Pisa was a surprise your initial take is a building leaning out from behind another to peak at you as you come round the corner! quite comical. I had to keep stopping myself correcting its tilt in my camera viewfinder!!! Assisi took my breath away it was a truly magical place, we arrived at hotel and just gasped at the view, to add to the atmosphere the choir in the church (just below hotel)were practicing and the sound filled the whole valley. I fell in love with this place. Pompeii was amazing everything you have heard and expect. Sorrento the Amalfi Coast and the Isle of Capri were so beautiful and made you feel really part of Italy. The most moving visit for me was the Montecassino War Cemetery an experience never to be forgotten, all those young lives lost - young men who never had a future. I found it quite a heartbreaking sight but at the same time the quietest, most beautifully serene setting of any cemetery I have ever visited. The Italians should be truly proud of what they achieved in providing this resting place for these lost souls. I will never forget it. The local guides throughout the trip were incredibly knowledgeable with a great sense of humour always adding a little bit of fun to even the most serious of surroundings. Our tour guide was excellent. Best of all the other members of my trip were fabulous - Americans and Australians (my soul sisters!)I was the only British one there but I couldn't have asked for a better crowd of people to spend 10 days with. Highly recommend it - but take comfortable shoes - at least two pairs as there is a lot of walking to do and if it is hot (which it was 30-35 degrees) your feet may swell but worth it.

    Best of Italy June 2013

    6/25/2013 Jennifer Humphries, Chestermere, Canada

This was an amazing tour. It was fast paced but we saw everything we wanted to and then some. Daniele was truly the best tour director. He made the entire tour fun and fact filled. He always went the extra mile. Natele was our driver and we all applaude him. I would not want to have to drive a vechicle in Italy let alone a bus...he was fabulous. The bus was great..lots of room so you didn't feel cramped in at any time. I would definitely do another tour with insight as this company was incredible. Very customer service oriented and they looked after everything. I mean everything..all our needs and some we hadn't even anticipated. I would recommend this tour and would highly recommend the tour company. Thank you for an amazing trip.

    Wonderful trip!

    6/14/2013 Susan Darling, Kingston, Canada

I thoroughly enjoyed the Best of Italy tour! We saw and did so much, from Venice to Capri, from museums to shopping, the Vatican and catacombs. The optionals were well worth the extra cost. The dinner in Tuscany and the excursion to San Gimignano in particular, are unforgettable experiences. Our guide, Lorena, was amazing! We were a very mixed group, from age 16 to 93, but she made sure everyone was looked after and had a great time. Even despite the rainy weather and road construction - we had an extra adventure on a local train so we didn't lose sightseeing time in Pompeii! Lorena had little surprises and treats for us along the way too. Her knowledge of Italy and the experience of the local guides taught us so much about Italy, its people and its history. Our driver, Domenico, was pretty amazing too. I couldn't imagine driving a bus that size on those roads!! None of us will ever forget one particular roundabout and I am sure when a certain song plays all of us will flashback to that moment. You will need to take the trip with Lorena and Domenico to understand what I am referring to!

The Insight people made the difference

6/2/2013 Christopher Fardella, Hampton Bays, United States

First, I must compliment the tour director, Kathy Cecchini for putting her heart and soul into it. Kathy worked very hard at making every connection for us and being entertaining and informative on every inch of the trip. The coach driver Salvatore Capitanino was amazing driving perfectly through impossible streets. The local tour guides were great too, Donnatella, Marco and Enrique. Together they made sure we got the most out of it. The veriety of towns and countryside was wonderful. The people of Italy were wonderful too.

    Best of Italy review

5/25/2013 Benece Leavitt, Arlington, United States

This was a fantastic tour. I signed up for all the optionals. We had a full tour of 40 people, had great and bountiful amount and variety of food, went to many cities, museums, leather, glassblowing and other demonstrations, and boat/gondola rides. There was something for everyone on this tour. The tour director can make or break a vacation. Kathy Cecchini was superb. She not only was so knowledgeable, but she had a great personality and was a ton of fun. We all hated to say Arrivederci.

5/22/2013 James Maynen, Huntley, United States

This was a fun, well organized, informative tour. Tour Director Kathy's personality kept us very interested while on the bus. The places we visited were just right for enjoying Italy - not too few, not too many. We took all but one optional excursion and were not sorry. The choice of restaurants was excellent - especially O'Parrucchino and Papa Rex. The driver, Salvatore was superb. The bus was clean and more roomy compared with other tours that we have taken. We will consider Insight first for our next tour.

Best of Italy - Wonderful trip

5/22/2013 Linda Diangelo, Buford, United States

This trip gave us a broad view of Italy and Kathy, our tour guide was so wonderful, filling our heads with tons of interesting facts about the country. We took all the optional excursions and they made the trip for us. Sure they filled our day, but seeing all the smaller hilltop towns, Spello, San Gimignano and Positano on the Amalfi Coast should not be missed. The unbelievable dinners were a great value and so much fun. Relaxing with others on our tour and sharing the wine at the end of the day gave us memories we will never forget. Insight is the Best!
