Reducing the environmental impact of our business is at the core of what we do at Insight Vacations. That's why we're working together with our sister brands at The Travel Corporation (TTC) to eliminate all avoidable single-use plastics in our operations, reduce our footprint by offering an e-documents option to our guests, and use the most efficient and eco-friendly modes of transportation as possible.
Céline travels the world helping to communicate the stories that connect humans and the environment. “Every journey we take deepens our appreciation and respect for this planet we all call home. The Americas offer some of the most awe-inspiring sights on earth, which I have been fortunate to see while navigating the Amazon and tracking the gray whale migration from Mexico to Alaska. We must make our travels sustainable – so our planet sustains us.”
Since 2017 and in partnership with One Tree Planted, a leading not-for-profit organization focused on global reforestation, we’ve planted a tree for every guest who has chosen to receive travel documents electronically rather than printed and mailed. In May 2020, all TTC brands participating in this initiative moved entirely to e-documents, and we will plant a tree for every one of our valued guests who travel with them.
In 2020, TTC has committed to focusing all of our brands' tree-planting efforts through the E-Docs initiative towards Australia, in Bushfire Recover Nurseries with a focus on habitat-rebuilding for affected species including the black glossy cockatoo and koala. Our partner One Tree Planted has committed to planting 1 million trees across Australia as part of a 5-year project in partnership with the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife and Australia’s National Parks.
We at Insight Vacations remain dedicated to removing as many unnecessary single use plastics from our worldwide supply chains on our immersive trips and experiences delivered in countries around the world, every day.
We continue to reduce most unnecessary single use plastics within all Insight Vacations operations and offices. We still have a long way to go. We remain committed and dedicated to achieving these important steps by December 2022.
On your trip with us, we will also identify where you can refill a reusable water bottle if you bring one with you - look for trips with this water bottle badge, indicating that you can top up your reusable water bottle with potable drinking water. We hope you’ll join us in making more sustainable choices on your trips with us.
Coach travel has been proven to reduce congestion and create less pollution per passenger kilometre than any other form of transport. Coach travel creates approximately 85% less CO2 per passenger kilometre than car and air travel, and nearly 40% less CO2 per passenger kilometre than rail travel.
The Insight Vacations coach fleet is among the most efficient in Europe, complying with EU emissions standards. Over the past two decades EU emissions standards have made it so that Euro Emissions 6 registered vehicles create up to 97% less particulate emissions and 95% less nitrogen oxide emissions than those vehicles meeting previous Euro Emissions standards.
Coach travel causes less pollution per passenger mile than any other transportation option.

As part of our continuing sustainability journey, we feel it’s increasingly important to provide our guests and our team with the necessary tools and information to allow them to make responsible travel choices whenever possible. With this in mind, we are now happy to provide you with opportunities to carbon offset your travel experience.
If you’re looking to offset your carbon footprint for an upcoming or previous travel experience, our not-for-profit TreadRight has identified for us three leading carbon offset programs - Conservation International Carbon Fund, myclimate, The Nature Conservancy, and Rainforest Concern – Forest Credits - that provide travellers with a number of ways in which to offset your travel experiences and a variety of carbon offset projects to choose from.
