    The Battlefield of Waterloo.

Leaving the city limits behind, visit the Battlefield of Waterloo to learn about Napoleon’s final defeat in 1815. Immerse yourself in the action at the Panorama, where a huge 360-degree mural depicts a key moment in the raging battle. If you're feeling energetic, you can climb the 230 steps to the top of the Lion's Mound for panoramic views over the battlefield and countryside. Return to Brussels, where the remainder of the day is at your leisure. Perhaps venture further afield and visit Antwerp, Belgium’s biggest port? Maybe try the local food and drink, Belgian Stoemp and a Kwak, for dinner?

  4. Day 4

    Ghent and on to Bruges.

In the morning, admire the contrast of the Chinese and Japanese Pavilions and the impressive, metallic spheres of the Atomium. Your journey then crossed the pasture lands of Belgian Flanders to your next stop in Ghent, the City of Flowers and rival to Bruges for its rich treasury of medieval heritage. With a Local Expert, visit St. Bavo’s Cathedral with its Van Eyck masterpiece and see the Castle of the Counts. Continue to picture-perfect Bruges for a fabulous Dine-Around Evening, amid the olde worlde atmosphere of the town centre.

    TRIP:
    SERVICE:

Trip: Loved all the stops on this trip. The only hotel we didn't care for was the NH Brugge. It smelled like sewer in the hallway

Service: We had booked very early for Switzerland in April. Insight cancelled and our friends could not attend the May 11 trip with us. They gave us the 10% discount for the Belgium trip, 12 days for the price of the Switzerland trip! They also found us reasonable airfare $507 each. We really wanted nonstop as was the case with the cancelled Switzerland trip. They did come up with the same price with nonstop on the return.

Trip: Due to one day in Luxembourg only.

Service: The travel director did extremely well. The accommodations and meals were fine. The airport pick up to the hotel failed in for the last two occasions we travel with Insight. This need to be improved. This last time we needed to pay a Taxi to take us to the hotel in Brussels.

    TRIP:
    SERVICE:

Trip: We saw very interesting things and places. Our point of view is tampered by the fact we have visited other places and we compare this trip to other trips in Europe. Our favorite remains Italian Escapade. But that said, we have no regrets of taking this trip.

Service: The guide was knowledgeable and always available. The driver was very professional.

    TRIP:
    SERVICE:

Trip: Logical progression from Brussels to Amsterdam following the map. I particularly like architecture and art, so the culmination at Amsterdam and the Rijksmuseum meant “ending on a high note”. Another day in Amsterdam for visiting the Van Gogh museum and more time at the Rijksmuseum would have suited me.

Service: It was a fantastic experience: tour director and coach driver were excellent, the coach was comfortable, hotels and meals were outstanding. Local experts all most commendable. The choice of optional experiences completed the overall appreciation of the cities visited. I hope to travel with Insight again, and I’ll definitely recommend it!
