    TRIP:
    SERVICE:

Trip: I've traveled to France many times for business and holiday, but this tour gave me a taste - literally and figuratively - of the heart of the country. From its diverse geography, to its stunning fields of sunflowers and grapes, to its ancient Roman sites and church architecture, to its pleasant villages to the storied sophistication of Paris, France is an experience to savor. The Country Roads tour gave us a sampling of every facet of a culture that is passionate and elegant and proud. I loved it! And will go back again...and again!

Service: If 'customer service' means our tour director, Laura Spiers, she is a 10! She is organized, cheerful, attentive, diligent, and absolutely brilliant in her knowledge. She made the trip easy, comfortable, accommodating everyone and speaking to us individually every day to understand how we were viewing each experience. If 'customer service' indicates the folks at Insights in Anaheim, CA, then I do have an issue. We purchased AAA travel insurance at the guidance of our travel planner. Meanwhile, she had us on an Air France flight, but our travel insurance did not cover Air France. When we told the travel agent, she called Insights and they refused to refund our down payment and were going to charge us well over the fee listed in the catalog, even though we were still 5 months away from the trip. We were displeased that Insights did not honor what was in the catalog. I will book my own air in the future, because it was stressful and time-consuming to get to an agreement. Plus, the Insights trip insurance did not seem as good as the Allianz insurance, although it was less expensive. And even the travel planner didn't recommend it. Again, the tour director was EXCELLENT.

Trip: Enjoyed the itinerary overall tho I was not happy with the location and style of accommodation at Sarlat - the meals in the hotel restaurant were lovely when we eventually got them but the beautiful exterior restoration was totally undermined by the ultra modern and not very practical interior design and room layout - nowhere to put bags etc. also due to extremely hot conditions and remote locale nowhere else to go in the evenings

Service: Our tour guide Elizabeth was lovely very knowledgable our bus driver was also excellent making our travel very comfortable at all times

    TRIP:
    SERVICE:

Trip: Happy with the tour overall and do not have any comments that would indicate otherwise.

Service: The Tour Director, Elisabeth was exceptional. and yes, I would consider another Insight trip - especially if Lis was the Tour Guide. I did make a comment that at the end of the tour - the courtesy transfers to the airport were at 7am and 10am. Many of the travellers had afternoon - or NIGHT flights ... and Insight should at least have an afternoon transfer. I also thought that the 'dinners' provided by Insight were OK only -- they were lacking in atmosphere - and not really value for money. I did mention to Lis that the company should consider at least ONE of the dinners at a restaurant - outside on the footpath. From what I saw, most people ate on the sidewalk restaurants .. and that is where the 'atmosphere' was. At Surlat - the hotel is out of the way - impossible to get to without the tour bus. The restaurant was incapable of handling our group and were also not tour group friendly. We were treated like second class citizens. Overall it was a great group of people - and the driver and tour guide made sure it was a great holiday. thanks. Graham

    TRIP:
    SERVICE:

Trip: Two hotels were too far from the city/village. One hotel (Sarlat) was not even within walking distance. One meal included with the trip was unacceptable-this was discussed with a customer service rep once we got home. The tour director was aware of our dietary needs. Perhaps he could have looked into exactly what we were going to be served (a stewed tomato and tasteless lentils).

    Service: Polite, understanding.
