From learning about the tradition of fabric milling in Baddeck to discovering the picturesque village of Peggy's Cove, you'll have plenty of time to relax and take in the sea air, as you make your way through Canada’s Eastern Maritime provinces.

  1. Day 1

    Welcome to Halifax.

Arrive in Halifax. A mix of sea breezes and cultural charms, you’ve arrived in your quintessential maritime destination. You’ll be picked up from Halifax International Airport and taken to your downtown hotel. You can relax next to the waterfront before meeting your Travel Director and fellow travellers at 18:00, for a Welcome Dinner with drinks.

Here you’ll experience one of the best surviving examples of a planned British Colonial settlement in North America, before meeting a Local Expert for a walking tour and visit to the brightly painted Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic. Hear interesting tales of the sea and the fishing industry's impact on the region before stopping off in picturesque Peggy’s Cove. Situated on the rocky cliffs of St Margaret’s Bay, this famous fishing village offers scenic photo opportunities. You'll end the day by heading back to Halifax for the evening.

Cross the Northumberland Strait to magical Prince Edward Island and quaint Charlottetown, where you’ll stay the next three nights.

  7. Day 7

    Charlottetown Sightseeing.

Have your cameras at the ready for a day of sightseeing. Discover picturesque Prince Edward Island with a Local Expert before heading on to Cavendish. Trip: Beautiful country. We only missed the Cabot Trail because it was raining with high winds and our driver put our safety first which we appreciated very much. Plan “B” was great.

Service: We had the most wonderful tour director. She went above and beyond. She set the bar so high that I don’t know if anyone will reach her standard. We have already signed up for another tour to Switzerland.

Trip: A great selection of highlights in history, landscapes and "must see", again made extra special by Isabel and Jim!

Service: The tour was great, wonderful things to see and do. Also very much enjoyed the days of "free time" to do things on our own or see places perhaps not on the tour agenda. A huge part of what made our tour exceptional were our Tour Director Isabel and our Driver Jim, both of them are second to none!

Trip: Whale, trip, Schooner trip and lobster trip were the best highlights.

Service: they had a plan "B" when weather was bad. They accommodated the more elderly with mobility problems, by taking caer of the bags, putting us in accommodations that had the least distance to walk. We had the best travel guide ever,( Isobelle) among all our Insight/Trafalger trips.

  • 04 October, 2018

Trip: Plenty of activities, several relaxed morning starts, and even a full day on our own. This is a vacation, so we appreciate some down time. LOVED the Lobster Cruise and dinner, as well as the scallops 101 and dinner. Learned so much about the Titanic and Mabel Bell! Walking along the best was fabulous.

Service: Our tour director was unbelievable. We have completed two Insight and one Trafalgar tours, this was the best yet! Our group was phenomenal! We also adopted Barry the Beaver as mascot for our group! Wish I could get pictures to work so you could see Barry!
