    Your Journey Begins

Board your overnight flight to Europe (please ask about our great deals).

  2. Day 2

    Welcome to Cairo

A country rich in wonders and mysteries awaits you. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.

  3. Day 3

    The Egyptian Museum and Citadel

Begin your city sightseeing with your Egyptologist at the world-famous Egyptian Museum. Starring among its attractions is the amazing treasure recovered from Tutankhamun's tomb. Sightseeing continues at the Citadel where you enjoy breathtaking views over the whole city. Salah El-Din started the Citadel in the 12th century, but it owes its present outline to Mohammed Ali, whose Great Alabaster Mosque is the next stop. Later, you will have free time to enjoy as you wish. In the evening, get to know your Tour Director and fellow guests over a Welcome Drink at the hotel. Afterwards, take your seats at the magical Sound & Light Show at the Great Pyramids which literally illuminates the history of Giza - an unforgettable introduction to the world of ancient Egypt.

  4. Day 4

    The Great Pyramids of Giza

Gain a deeper understanding of the last remaining Wonder of the Ancient World during a visit to Giza with your Egyptologist. Meet the enigmatic Sphinx crouching at the foot of Chephrenís Causeway and venture inside one of the magnificent pyramids. Nearby lies Memphis, capital of the Old Kingdom, where you can see the colossal statue of Rameses II and the great Alabaster Sphinx. Continue to Sakkara to view the Step Pyramid of Zoser I; dating from 2,686 BC, it's the oldest in the world. Enjoy free time in the afternoon.

  5. Day 5

Fly to Luxor, Cruise the Nile

Fly to Luxor and visit the huge temple complex of Karnak. Walk through the avenue of ram-headed sphinxes to stand among the columns of the Hypostyle Hall. Transfer to your cruise ship. After lunch on-board, visit Luxor Temple which was unearthed by Mariette in the 1860s.

  6. Day 6 - Relaxed Start

Valley of the Kings to Edfu

(Relaxed Start) Travel by air-conditioned coach to the west bank of the Nile to see the Colossi of Memnon, and visit both the Temple of Hatshepsut and Valley of the Kings, where many pharaohs were buried. Next, visit a working bakery and witness the local artisans making authentic Egyptian bread. Return to your cruise boat and sail via the Esna Lock to Edfu.

  7. Day 7

From the Temple of Horus to Aswan

Visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu, dedicated to the Falcon God. After exploring this magnificent site, sail to Kom Ombo to visit the only temple in Egypt dedicated to two gods: the crocodile-headed Sobek and falcon-headed Horus the Elder. Cruise to Aswan and in the evening, don your galabeyas (traditional Egyptian attire), for a fun-filled Egyptian dinner and galabeya party.

  8. Day 8 - Relaxed Start

Aswan’s High Dam and Nile Felucca

(Relaxed Start) In the morning, visit the Aswan High Dam and Granite Quarries to see the enormous Unfinished Obelisk. Travel by motorboat to the Temple of Isis, rising from the waters of the Nile on the Island of Philae. Later, on a traditional Nile Felucca, meet a sailor and learn the art of sailing this ancient craft. As the sun starts to fade, enjoy colonial-style high tea at the historic Old Cataract Hotel.

  9. Day 9 - Relaxed Start

Free Time in Aswan and back to Cairo

(Relaxed Start) In the morning, disembark your cruise ship and enjoy time at leisure in Aswan. Why not join an optional experience by air to the magnificent Temples of Rameses II at Abu Simbel? Otherwise, spend the morning as you wish. There are many points of interest to enjoy; the Botanic Gardens, Elephantine Island, the Aga Khan Mausoleum, or soak up the African atmosphere in the Nubian bazaar. Later, transfer to the airport for your return flight to Cairo for the night.

  10. Day 10 - Relaxed Start

(Relaxed Start) Your journey ends after breakfast with transfers to the airport.

Trip: This was an excellent trip. Everything was done very well. The airport transport was done with great diligence and the guides extremely knowledgeable.

Service: The customer service was great. I appreciated the diligence paid to the transport to and from the airport. The guides were all extremely knowledgeable and made sure we knew what to expect each day. I will definitely go back to Egypt thanks to this trip.

Trip: Saw lots. Returning to the Marriott Hotel in Cairo was a waste of time after taking the all day excursion to Abu Sin. Should have stayed at a airport hotel since our pickup was at 6:30 am. All extra museum entrance fees should be included in the tour price instead of having to pay to see special exhibits. It’s understandable for phototaking but not exhibits. Buses were clean but not the spacious and roomy buses I’ve been accustomed to with Insight. Lacked WiFi on the bus

Service: Didn’t work with customer service. Handled by travel agency.

Trip: Not enough time at Egyptian Museum and Giza. Too many temples. I would have liked a " Pharaohs and Kings for Dummies". A simple timeline/geneology.

Service: Four, not five, due to travel agent used.

Trip: The Wonders of Egypt was an exciting tour that packed so many historical and cultural experiences into an amazing ten days.

Service: Customer service were very helpful and accommodating when we booked our trip.

  • 09 April, 2018

Trip: I would have liked an additional day of touring in Cairo. Also, while the Marriott Omar Khayyem hotel is wonderful, I thought it was a waste of time to go there in late afternoon from the airport when we were coming back to the airport early the next morning.

Service: Very good attention to individuals' preferences.

Trip: Please see above Again—thank you for the amazing people you recruit and retain to create such unique experiences and adventures. Amazing!!

Service: Dear Ulla Hefel Bohler and customer representatives: Amazing trip to Egypt! Wonderful tour guide, incredible educational, societal, cultural adventure. Met incredible people, visited homes in villages, climbed in pyramids, cruised the Nile, saw amazing contrasts of wealth and poverty, hope and despair and learned the importance and value of social compassion. The beauty of the antiquities contrasted with the sands of the Sahara were breath taking. But the people-people exchanges were once again the highlight of the adventure. How could anyone not be changed for the better? If travel is the window to understanding and knowledge— and knowledge is the power to become change agents—then you’re company’s motto should be adapted from Michael Jackson’s “man in the mirror” song about starting change with yourself. Once again — thank you on behalf of the thousands of lives you are changing daily by introducing and exposing all of us to differences. Then we can embrace them, appreciate them, honor them and “change” the world together. This is our 5th insight tour. Keep pursuing and achieving excellence. Kudos to you and your teams. Gordon Blood

Trip: We got to do everything we'd dreamed of!

Service: Nice trip. All went well.

  • 28 March, 2018

Trip: Some of the temples were repetitive.

Service: They were on top of things and our entire trip ran smoothly. Our tour director was the best I’ve ever had.

  • 27 March, 2018

Trip: Great itinerary. We saw all the major historic sites.

Service: We had a wonderful trip. Our tour leader, Wael, was outstanding. He took care of everything and truly made our trip superior.

Trip: Drop the Sound and Light Show!

Service: The "Light and Sound Show" in Giza was not worth going to see. Some additional local flavor would have been nice in lieu of that or additional free time at the Egyptian Museum. The guides should have suggested buying the additional photo permits; for the price I regret going with the guides suggestion that they were not worth buying. Both guides Assum in Cairo and Ahmed in Luxor were excellent. Very knowledgeable, approachable and on time - always.

    Trip: 5 Stars 5 stars 5 stars 5 stars

    Service: Great guides!

  • 27 February, 2018

Trip: Very comprehensive as an overview of Egypt.

Service: Mohammed who met us at the Cario airport was extraordinary in his detail care in both meeting us at the airport and returning us to the airport. Hatem was probably the best tour director and guide that we have experienced.
