Cairo at leisure
Welcome to Egypt - a timeless land, abundant with ancient temples and tombs. On arrival at Cairo Airport, you will be met and transferred to one of the best hotels in Cairo.
Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza
After meeting your Tour Director, a professionally trained and educated Egyptologist, start the morning with a visit to visit to the Egyptian Museum, housing the priceless artefacts recovered from the tomb of Tutankhamun. Next, venture out to Giza for a face-to-face meeting with the Sphinx and guided tour of the pyramids. Journey deep into the heart of one of these ancient wonders, to stand in the royal burial chamber. In the evening, get to know your Tour Director and fellow travellers over a welcome drink. Later, as night falls, return to Giza to attend a magical Sound & Light Show at the world famous pyramids, which literally illuminates the ancient history of Giza.
Nubian Aswan and Tea on the Terrace
Board your flight to exotic Aswan, a favourite winter resort on account of its superb climate and scenery. Drive out to the modern High Dam and visit the granite quarries where the Unfinished Obelisk still lies attached to the bedrock. Take a motorboat to the lyrical Temples of Philae, rising from the waters of the Nile. Later, catch the gentle breezes and river currents aboard a felucca; these traditional sailboats have plied the Nile since ancient times. As a special welcome, enjoy colonial-style high tea at the Old Cataract Hotel before embarking your cruise ship.
Cruising to Kom Ombo and Edfu
(Relaxed Start) The morning is at leisure for you to enjoy. Maybe take an optional experience to Abu Simbel, by air? These magnificent temples were cut from their hillside origin in the 1960s and repositioned above the waterline of the newly created Lake Nasser. Later, cruise to Kom Ombo and visit the only double temple in Egypt, dedicated to two gods: the crocodile-headed Sobek and falcon-headed Horus the Elder. Continue on, past irrigated fields and palm-fringed villages to Edfu. Celebrate Egyptian-style in the evening, at a galabeya party and dinner.
Cruising the Nile to Luxor
(Relaxed Start) After breakfast, enjoy a visit to the beautifully preserved Temple of Horus, the Falcon God. Witness the grandiose set of reliefs depicting the ritual in which Horus defeated his arch enemy, Seth. Sail on through the Esna Lock and downstream to Luxor. On arrival, visit the temple of Luxor, lost for centuries beneath the streets of the town.
The Valley of the Kings, Karnak and Cairo
(Relaxed Start) Drive over to the west bank of the Nile for a photo stop at the towering Colossi of Memnon. Your visit to the Valley of the Kings - burial place of many of the New Kingdom Pharaohs - includes venturing underground into some of the preserved royal tombs. Continue to the reconstructed Temple of Hatshepsut, who was one of the few female rulers in Ancient Egypt, before visiting a working bakery to witness the local artisans making authentic Egyptian bread. Return to Luxor and the amazing temple complex of Karnak. Among its splendours is the vast Hypostyle Hall, the largest of any temple in the world. Later, transfer to the airport to board your flight back to Cairo.
Your amazing journey concludes here, with transfers to the airport.

Trip: Good schedule...time at Temples, Museum, flight schedules.. Nile River Time.
Service: RECOMMEND Scheduling through them. Locations, timing, group size was perfect. Everyone blended together ... Marwa was very personable, thoughtful, Fun AND PATIENT 😁. Probably .. only two instances that were highlighted...the bizzare vendors and Horse carriage transport. Member of party had wheel come off heading to Temple.

Trip: We saw the pyramids and rode camels there and went to the Cairo Museum. Then we went to Abu Simbel and then to Aswan where we boarded the Cruise. It was so wonderful to relax and cruise down the Nile. We saw so many temples, and our Egyptologist, Mohamed El Aswany was so very knowledgeable and told us everything about these temples and the Pharohs and read some of the hieroglyphics to us. The balloon ride over Luxor was wonderful. It was an amazing adventure. So much was packed into that week that I can't name it all here.
Service: The service was excellent. They picked us up from the airport, the hotel, the cruise and returned us back There was a driver and a guide.. They gave us the times and explained what would we would do and when. We had an excellent Egyptologist at Cairo and another very knowledgeable one during the Cruise who told us so much about the history of Egypt..

Trip: I loved every stop and felt they were all necessary! I would have loved to have a little down time to sleep in (a little) and/or be able to have some time to shop at non-planned stops
Service: Rafi was a fantastic guide in Israel. He was extremely knowledgeable and really went above and beyond to try to cater to my mom who required a walker/cane to get around. He made the trip fun and I had no idea how much history I would learn. Truly made the experience memorable. Aymen was incredible. He was so knowledgeable and had a really great personality and made everything so much fun! He really was in touch with our group and felt like we were a family. He really went ABOVE and BEYOND to accommodate my mom with her walker (he helped carry it several times) and never made her feel rushed. Absolutely fabulous and truly the most memorable trip ever. I learned so much!!

Trip: Covered a lot of sights but was a bit rushed - I should have taken a longer tour
Service: Insight overall service is good. When I did Italy in 2013 I had a fantastic time. In Egypt, the co-ordination could have been better - not sure if that is a local thing.

Trip: We did the abu sambil as an add on trip that should absolutely just be included in the intermarry and the price adjusted to reflect that. People missed a true wonder if they did not sign up for that extra trip
Service: Our tour guides were good, we had two Ahmed was exceptional. The attractions we saw were amazing and I thought we certainly got our money’s worth

Trip: The Insight representative was there immediately when I departed my flight in Cairo with getting my luggage and transportation to the Marriott. The accommodations were excellent in both Cairo and on the MS Medea. Both Egyptologists were very knowledgable. Khaled Ezzat was fabulous!! He guided most of the trip. He was very personable and informative. He was very helpful with all aspects. He broadened my knowledge in Egypt history and artifacts.
Service: Excellent. Everyone was very accommodating.
