    Welcome to Vienna.

At Vienna airport, transfers for your hotel leave at 10:00, 13:00 and 15:00. Meet your Travel Director at 18:00 and travel to a local restaurant for your Welcome Dinner. Enjoy the opportunity to mingle with fellow guests over a delightful meal and wine.

  3. Day 3

    The Habsburgs of Vienna.

At this time of year, the Austrian capital is a place of nostalgia and romance, with concerts, nativity displays and many official Advent Markets selling a vast array of seasonal gifts and mouth-watering treats. Join your Local Expert for a private tour of Maria Theresa's Schönbrunn Palace. Then get your camera ready for a circuit of the famous Ring Road. This grand boulevard is built along the lines of the old city walls and showcases many of the capital's architectural masterpieces, including the Opera House and Hofburg Imperial Residence. You also see the City Hall and its surrounding parklands, festively decorated in a sea of lights - the perfect setting for the Viennese Christmas Market. Here your Travel Director will introduce you to a market stallholder to enjoy sampling a Viennese winter dessert, complemented perfectly with a traditional fragrant glass of Glühwein.

  4. Day 4

    Free time in Salzburg.

Journey through the rich farmlands of eastern Austria towards the lakes and mountains of the Salzkammergut and the enchanting city of Salzburg.

  5. Day 5 - Relaxed Start

    The City of Mozart.

(Relaxed Start) Come December, the spires and domes of Salzburg's old town are often draped in snow. Walk with your Local Expert to see Mozart's family home on the Getreidegasse, beautifully decorated at this time of year. Then head on to the rosy hues of the 500-year-old Christmas Market in front of the cathedral. Culinary delicacies, candied fruits, hot mulled wine and the lovingly decorated stalls invite visitors to stop and browse.

  6. Day 6 - Relaxed Start

    A scenic drive to Innsbruck.

(Relaxed Start) A lovely drive brings you to the Inn Valley and the mountain-ringed Tyrolean capital of Innsbruck. In front of the Golden Roof, surrounded by beautifully preserved medieval facades, you'll find the traditional Christmas Market is in full swing. After some time to explore, enjoy delightful scenery and crisp, fresh air on a horse-drawn carriage ride through the countryside of Tyrol. In the evening, drive to the charming town of Hall in Tirol, which boasts Austria's best preserved ensemble of historic buildings. Soak up the friendly Yuletide atmosphere at Hall's traditional Christmas market, before enjoying a highlight banquet with wine in a 700-year-old building. After delighting your palate with Austrian specialities and wine, it's a merry drive back to Innsbruck.

  7. Day 7

    Oberammergau and Neuschwanstein.

Travel into the beautiful scenery of the German Alps to visit Oberammergau, home of the Passion Play since 1634. See the immense theatre and admire the colourful painted chalets, then continue to the fairy-tale castle of Neuschwanstein, perched on a spectacular Alpine mountainside. With a Local Expert, visit the exuberantly decorated apartments, including the Throne Room, before driving on to the Bavarian capital of Munich. Please note: Neuschwanstein Castle visits require a good level of mobility due to the number of stairs in the building and uphill, on-foot access to the castle during winter. Those who do not wish to ascend to the castle can enjoy a coffee and cake, while admiring the beautiful castle vista.

  8. Day 8 - Relaxed Start

(Relaxed Start) Enjoy an orientation of the city which concludes in Marienplatz beside the soaring Town Hall, famous for its Glockenspiel. Beneath the gigantic Christmas tree, Munich’s traditional Christmas Market is an entrancing festival of light and music. In the evening, join your travelling companions at a local restaurant for a festive Celebration Dinner with wine and good cheer!

Trip: We got to see a lot of Christmas Markets.

Service: I did not like the fact that there was only 1 shuttle available back to the airport on departure day. Also, the hotel in Munich was not centrally located so I didn’t have any options on things to do departure day. The shuttle left hotel at 8:30 & my flight didn’t depart until 4:00. It would have been nice to go to another Christmas marekt before I returned home. It was listed as a complimentary shuttle but I know the price for it was in my bill. Our director, Danielle, was fabulous!

Trip: The itinerary was great, interesting places and tours around town. We were blown away with the horse carriage ride through the snow, amazing experience. The Christmas markets were first class with a lot to do and see and buy. Very festive atmosphere. We will certainly be back. The hotels were lacking and not that great. The Hilton Vienna was the only hotel that I can rate as 4 star.

Service: I would recommend them to anybody travelling. The consultants were good and the booking service received, great.

Trip: Plenty of time in the Christmas markets, amazing scenery along the road, enjoyable experiences included such as the meal at the organic farm and the walking tours.

Service: A very well organized tour. Excellent local guides and a great tour director. Plenty of time to wander the Christmas markets, magical ride in horse drawn carriages through the snowy landscape and great walking tours through city centres lead by guides.

Trip: The tour director gave a lot of information as we went to various towns and sites. I would have liked that information in a handout to keep with my photos. I'm having to recreate that now in my head and internet. The main itinerary was great though. I guess that's why you tell us to do a journal. :)

    Service: Everything was good

  • 27 December, 2018

Trip: The markets were magical and the trip itinerary allowed for plenty of shopping time in each destination. This trip also included historical and cultural places of interest, which made the whole experience worthwhile.

Service: Polite and professional. Able to answer questions and make changes to my booking when needed.

  • 26 December, 2018

Trip: Great choice of activities showcasing the best of each destination, the Christmas markets being one aspect of a terrific tour.

Service: Outstanding service. Danielle and Mandi were exemplary in their overall care and customer service. This is the first tour of any kind that I have been on as I normally arrange all my own travel. However, given the options and opportunities made available through the tour, additional extras and the informative nature of the tour, I will be a returnee. I would like to acknowledge the hours of work that Danielle contributes to making the experience more enjoyable. As an event provider, I observed Danielle was 'On', to assist in any way. However I am most appreciative of the hours behind the scenes and after everyone is tucked into their rooms to make it look effortless. This includes the excellent relationships both he and Mandi have established with providers which enabled smooth flow of activities and accomodation.
