  • 09 August, 2018

Trip: So many great sites and lots of time to explore on our own.

Service: Rose, who met us at the hotel in London was friendly and helpful and assisted us the following day with a smooth transition onto the train to Edinburgh! Matt, our tour director was the best! Knowledgable, friendly, helpful, generous and a great sense of humour!! Thank you Matt :)

Trip: Birdsall, Ardgowan and Sr Ludie, and Blenham Palace alone made the itenery. Birdsall was excellent in particular. Only real disappointment was the train ride which was described in glowing terms in the description of the tour. I suggest you only say there is a train ride and then there is less disappointment. Even with train ride I can recommend the itinerary. I also suggest that you talk to dining people at McDonald Hotel at Windmere for poor service. They said we couldn’t have dinner napkins because we were a tour group. Again this was NOT Insight people but hotel staff. Please do not make my name available publically. Please let Insight know my name so I can be reimbused for transfer to airport to go home which Insight misscheduled. Our flight left before when the transfer was scheduled.

Service: Whatever we asked for we either got or an explanation was provided. Hotel dining staff in Windemere demonstrated poor service but this was NOT Insight staff. They refused to give us dinner napkins because we were a travel group. Further there was a mix up on when our transfer to the airport for our flight back to the USA. Insight scheduled our transfer for 10:50 am when our flight left at 10:38 am. We figured out the error at the last minute and by just throwing our clothes in our luggage, skipping breakfast and shower, brush teeth etc and paying for a hotel car to take us to airport we just made the flight. We sure would like to get reimbursed for the transfer which was not scheduled right so we could not use it!!!

Trip: We loved having all 2 night stays. In fact, this is why we chose this tour. The only place that wasn't enjoyable was Stonehenge because it was so crowded. If another ancient site could be substituted, it would be much better.

Service: We took the Elegance of Great Britain tour in June 2018 and loved it! Everything was well planned and very enjoyable.

  • 19 July, 2018

Trip: Loved the relaxed pace of this vacation. It was nice to have things to do, it was equally nice to have lots of free time in each city. 2 nights per city is now my preferred trip style.

Service: We had a great vacation, our tour director was great and very attentive to our needs and wants.

  • 10 July, 2018

Trip: I really enjoyed all of the places we visited, however, there were some aspects of this itinerary that might have some people considering alternate vacation plans. We found most of the included dinners suffered from one or two problems. One appeared to be staff that was unprepared to handle the size of our tour group and/or the food was very substandard and in one location, downright inedible.

Service: Our Tour Direction and Bus Driver were excellent. The tour director was very knowledgeable about the places we visited and was readily available and willing to help with any situation or just to share information. The bus driver was pleasant, safety conscious, and kept the coach sparkling clean, inside and out!

  • 07 July, 2018

Trip: Great itinerary loved, the Castles, Places, and learning more about the Authors and English history. Would love to see more of Scotland, like Sterling Castle & and Isle Of Skye. Maybe one more day in London to see Tower Of London. Loved the dinners & Lunchs at the estates.

    Service: Awesome!

  • 05 July, 2018

Trip: I loved the Birdsall manor home that we toured and had dinner in, the Lincoln castle was great (altho we needed A LOT more time to see it), and the tour and tea at Ludo's manor was excellent.

Service: It was a well-planned trip, the guide was very good, and the sites were fun.

  • 05 July, 2018

Trip: Wonderful tour, but I feel that we needed a full day in London.

Service: Always there, always to answer my questions and give helpful suggestions

  • 05 July, 2018

Trip: We just enjoyed all of it. It was a good balance of Scotland and England. We liked the relaxed starts.

Service: Our guide and driver were both great.

  • 01 July, 2018

Trip: Did not enjoy Ardgowan Estate as we were under the impression we were to see the gardens, spent a long time listening to a lecture instead. We were also rushed at Stonehenge, 2 hours didn't allow for a full experience.

Service: Overall the trip was good, our director was organized and attentive however, our taxi at the end of the trip (pre-booked) with you was 45 minutes late. We had to make several calls and were frustrated as we had a flight to catch. Someone dropped the ball. Meals were too late in the day and service was astonishingly slow.

  • 23 June, 2018

Trip: Overall a wonderful arrangement of stuff to see and appreciate the time and distance factors that go into organising these trips.some of the tour talks could have been shorter, and would have loved to have walked from one village to another to grasp the closeness of the villages in some areas like we see on escape to the country on tv.

Service: David Parry was excellent and also Paul the coach driver. Both men very professional, punctual, caring.lovely coach, comfortable and overall I would recommend insight to others.I appreciate that going on a tour such as this there is a mix of people and personalities, but it does take the shine off the trip when certain customers don’t want to join in and complain about everything. It makes it hard on the tour guide but David did very well.
