  3. Day 3 - Relaxed Start

To Galway, City of the Tribes.

Leave Dublin and set off through the delightful landscape of the Emerald Isle. Pass by the former fortress town of Athlone on the River Shannon, to reach historic Galway, the City of the Tribes, at the mouth of the Corrib River. Join your Travel Director to see the infamous Lynch Memorial and the Church of St. Nicholas, where Christopher Columbus reputedly prayed before his discovery of America. Also see the aged Spanish Arch and Eyre Square, dedicated to the late US President, John F. Kennedy.

  4. Day 4 - Relaxed Start

The Cliffs of Moher, Adare and Killarney.

Take the scenic route through the mysterious rocky limestone landscape of the Burren, with its underground caverns, streams and rare flora. Stop at the Exhibition Centre, situated next to the 700-foot Cliffs of Moher with breathtaking views of the Clare Coast. Continue past the city of Limerick, stop in quaint Adare and take a relaxed village walk to see its thatched-roof cottages. In the evening, stay in the heart of the action in lively Killarney.

  5. Day 5 - Relaxed Start

    Ring of Kerry Experience.

Enjoy a memorable ride on a traditional horse-drawn jaunting car with the local Jarveys before taking a leisurely excursion around the magnificent Ring of Kerry with stunning views of mountains and sea. Pass through the small towns of Killorglin, where the famous Puck Fair takes place, and Cahersiveen, birthplace of the great patriot, Daniel O'Connell. Follow the narrow road as it winds along the cliffs to the fishing town of Waterville. Continue through delightful villages like Sneem and cross the peat bogs of the Black Mountains to Moll’s Gap to admire Queen Victoria’s Ladies View. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Maybe take the opportunity to hire a bicycle and enjoy one of the many scenic trails around the lake or through the National Park? For your Dine-at-Home experience, enjoy some Irish home cooking in the kitchens of chef John Sheehan. Join John and his wife, Freda for drinks and a personal insight into classic Irish recipes that are loved throughout the world. Then, settle down for a night of great food and drink in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

  6. Day 6 - Relaxed Start

Blarney Castle and Cobh on the way to Cork.

Journey along the rugged Derrynasaggart Mountains to visit the 15th century Blarney Castle, home of the famous Stone of Eloquence - once kissed, never forgotten! Then drive to the pretty riverside village of Cobh, which was the last port of call for the Titanic. Walk through the Queenstown Story exhibition at the Heritage Centre, which recounts the era of Irish emigration and the life of this once great passenger port. Continue on to Cork along the spacious Grand Parade and South Mall and see the City Hall, Opera House and fine Georgian houses en route to your hotel. In the evening, raise your glass and revel in rich flavours at a lively Celebration Dinner.

  7. Day 7

Waterford, Kildare and on to Dublin.

An exciting day takes you along the coast via Youghal, where tradition says Sir Walter Raleigh planted the first potatoes in Ireland. Continue via Dungarvan to Waterford to see the 11th century Reginald’s Tower and the remains of the old city walls. Enjoy a guided visit of the world-famous House of Waterford Crystal and meet a master craftsman. Your journey continues, passing the Curragh Racecourse and green meadows where many of the finest Irish racehorses are bred. Return to Dublin and your hotel, located in the heart of Dublin’s leafy south side just minutes from the city centre. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure to further explore if you wish.

Trip: The itinerary, the guide, the hotels, the meals and the coach and it’s seat comfort all made this holiday a five star!

Service: This was our first Insight Tour and boy did we pick the best. We did the Focus of Ireland and enjoyed it to the fullest. The tour guide was so knowledgeable and witty that we could hardly wait to start our day! We toured at a more leisurely pace, had hotel rooms close to conveniences, and had excellent hotels that met every need possible. The cities were amazing, the sights outstanding. I would highly recommend this tour and the services of Insight Tours

  • 16 September, 2018

Trip: We saw the main highlights of Ireland in the time allotted. Days were well planned.

Service: Tour was well organized. Guide was helpful and willing to solve any situations that arose.

  • 15 September, 2018

Trip: All expectations met and then some. This Insight Tour had everything. good food, wonderful hotels in great locations, variety of resturants visited along with spectacular sites. Tour Guide added a tremendous amount if information and historical aspects along the way.

Service: Insight vacation team was outstanding! Spectular Tour Guide, Terrific Driver and perfectly planned vacation tour. All needs of every traveler met at every level.

  • 15 September, 2018

Trip: Great tour. Wonderful sights. The scenery was breath taking.

Service: The tour guide was very knowledgeable. The bus driver was excellent. Hotels and accommodations were great. The bus was comfortable but advertised wifi. It was not working for the majority of the time. Additional tours were excellent.

  • 15 September, 2018

Trip: Trip is short and packed with lots of wonderful sights! I could not believe how many places we saw. We had a wonderful taste of Ireland.

Service: We had excellent service from Insight. Every questions answered (correctly), every problem solved.

  • 10 September, 2018

Trip: I thought the itinerary was great. I was just a bit frustrated by how cheap they appeared; like one glass of wine with dinner and some dinners had no wine so we had to settled a bill for Euros 3?

Service: I would definitely recommend them.

  • 10 September, 2018

Trip: The tour ran like clockwork. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and really went out of her way to make each site memorable. Our bus driver was also excellent.

    Service: Everything was excellent!

  • 09 September, 2018

Trip: Itinerary was as described on Insight's web site. Coach was roomy and hotels were excellent. Did not care for the Dine-at-Home Experience in Killarney. The chef used us as his audience to preach about the bad food that the food industry is selling. His home did not provide proper dinner seating for our entire Insight group. The entree and dessert was a repetition of the food served at the hotel in Killarney the previous night.

Service: For some reason we did not receive our trip documents 10 days before our departure. We called Insight and they emailed them to us and we received hard copies a few days later.

  • 09 September, 2018

Trip: See the first comment. I think there was too much free time. Perhaps include more stop overs to see things. We stopped a lot for coffee and going to stores, and dinners. I would rather see Ireland.

Service: Probably go with them again. You need to specify more about your day tours, exactly what you cover and in which way you cover them. Dublin city tour was not good. We should have taken the hop on hop off bus tour. We arrived in Dublin one day early and had the time but your tour itinerary painted a really good city tour but we visited only the Trinity College! Shouldn't you include the famous Guniness Storehouse in your tour? Just pointing to things from inside the bus is not really visiting. So I strongly suggest you give a descriptive explanation of exactly what places you take customers to. Overall the service was good.

  • 08 September, 2018

Trip: Gave us a good taste of Ireland. Hotels were well chosen. We were comfortable and within easy reach of many attractions. Storyteller was great. Places that were visited were enjoyable and we were given a most entertaining and informative history of Ireland. Beautiful scenery along the way and extremely comfortable buses to carry us on the tour. Must mention how thoroughly enchanting, helpful and informative was our tour guide, Anne and how extremely skilled and competent our driver, Allan

Service: Efficient, friendly service. All questions dealt with expeditiously and in a charming manner

  • 08 September, 2018

Trip: Galway city tour was terrific. I loved seeing the countryside as well.

Service: Great driver. Tour director good However, the tour was disappointing because of the Pope's visit. We were unable to visit Trinity Collegel To compensate, we were offered a free excursion that we didn't wish to attend. We were not offered a refund, or a reducation of cost on an excursion we did wish to attend. Very disappointng and poor compensation for our inconvenience.

  • 08 September, 2018

Trip: Knowing very little about Ireland, I learned so much and saw an overview of the whole country. Enjoyed the city of Dublin, Galway and countryside. Was a little disappointed we weren't able to stay in Cork longer than we did. We weren't able to get off the bus except to go to the hotel (which wasn't really close to anything).

Service: I wouldn't have rated our experience 5 stars after the first "Welcoming dinner". Erica Dalton stepped in for our tour director at the Welcoming dinner. She was very rude and abrasive to our group. I wondered if we made a mistake going with Insight tours again. I was also embarrassed bringing friends who were first time vacationers with Insight. I will think long and hard about traveling with Insight again. Ann Ellard, our tour director was wonderful and salvaged our tour after that.
