The ancient city of Knossos the residence of the wise King Minos and the Minotaur, with constant habitation from the Neolithic era until the 5th century A.D., is beyond doubt the land that “gave birth” to the first civilization of Europe, the Minoans. The palace of Knossos spreads around a large Central Court. You will reach the awe inspiring Throne Room, the fresco of the “Prince of the Lilies”, the imposing Grand Staircase, the Queen’s Megaron. Walking through the apartments of the Knossos palace and observing the finds even as passers-by, you will feel part of this cultural heritage.

Celestyal Cruise ships operating in the Eastern Mediterranean typically embody local style and are smaller than many ocean-going vessels – which is also reflected in cabin size. However, these ships are well-suited to the Greek islands, allowing easier access to the ports of call. All mid-size cruise ships feature air-conditioned cabins with private facilities, outdoor pool, fitness centre, beauty salon, casino, bars & restaurants.

Trip: The cruise was a great way to get around so many islands at once and see such amazing sights. It did seem a bit rushed, but that’s what we had selected. We had a drinks package, but we were on shore most of the time so that wasn’t worth it.
Service: We had an amazing stress free trip through Italy and Greece with Insight. The tour guides (Elena and Ann) were professional, had good local knowledge, organised everything and we felt well looked after. We saw the main sights, had fast access into the features, and opportunities to spend time on our own. It is the only way to travel and cover so many places and be able to enjoy everything.

Trip: Many people wished we had been able to have a beach day at some point.
Service: Our Tour Director, Anne, was amazing! Her knowledge and connections ensured our group was always first in line for our excursions. I would definitely travel with Insight again!

Trip: Tours were all great and informative. The only thing I would do differently is take a half day off! That is not a criticism of the itinerary, but we didn’t want to miss anything so we took all the optional tours, which made the three days very busy!
Service: I liked the location of the hotel, the tours, both included and optional, were great. Tour director was excellent. Definitely would recommend Insight.

Trip: My one and only complaint is the lack of free Wi-Fi on the ship. In a day and age when you can rent a $40 a night hotel in the middle of the jungle in Southeast Asia and get free Wi-Fi it’s rather archaic that you are charged €10 an hour to connect with your business associates during downtime at night while you’re on board.
Service: The events are always very well organized and very good at getting us in and out of places ahead of the crowds. The additional experiences are worth every penny and I love the restaurants that are chosen for us we would’ve never found them by ourselves.

Service: Well organized. Experienced tour manager and tour guides .

Trip: A little hassle during the flight because we was booked too short of connecting flights so we missed one of them. However the tour guide made up for it with a Birthday card for me.
Service: The reason we picked Insights Vacation is because it is a recommendation from our tour agency. Also the tour guide during the trip is what makes it a fun experience. Customer service is the key.

Trip: Loved that we were only on the extremely crowded islands for a few hours. Loved the two islands a day. Time for a nap in between! It was definitely for travelers looking to get an overview of many parts of Greece/Turkey in a short period of time. Perfect for us!
Service: I loved this tour but having traveled with your sister company, Trafalgar several times in the past, we expected above and beyond. On our welcome night there were only a few nuts and crackers offered with one drink of uzso. If you wanted something else to drink (or a second), you had to pay for it. Not what I was used to with Trafalgar. The tour guides on land and on sea were exceptional. Good job! But no final farewell dinner with our tour mates???? sad. Overall a great trip.

Trip: We got what we booked, hectic visits to islands and Ephesus, a good hotel in central Athens and interesting optional add-on trips. The food and service on board ship (Celestyal) was, we felt, only moderate but maybe to be expected with 1500-odd passengers.
Service: The two main tour directors/guides Mia and Anne were both brilliant and very good company! We were lucky to be in an Insight group of only about 14 so the personal service was faultless; On the cruise ship, Anne briefed us fully on all shore tours and made sure we, of all the groups, disembarked first or second and ensured we all were placed on the same tender back to the ship - even if this meant having a major row with the loader who split us up as the boat was full!! She got her way.
