    Trip: Spectacular scenery and views.

Service: Excellent tour Guide and Driver. Scenery was great. Hotels were not great but were probably the best available.

  • 16 July, 2018

Trip: They are always on time and the tour director was very pleasant also the bus driver

Service: everyone was very helpful and friendly and yes I would go with Insight again

Trip: Amazing desinations of waterfalls, volcanoes, geysers, geothermal mud pits, glaciers, icebergs and black sand beaches. Reykjavik and Akureyri cities and blue lagoon were incredible. On travel day from Akureyri to Borgarnes would have liked to have stopped on volcano rim you could walk up to and crevice/cave in mountain. Hotel Borgarnes was below standard. Definitely not a 4 or 5 star hotel, very run down and old. Since only 50 min to Reykjavik would have preferred to stay in a nicer hotel these 2 nights. Also, disappointed we were moved to Hilton instead of Foss Hotel in Reykjavik. Overally trip of a lifetime. Tour guide and driver were amazing.

Service: Yes, I would recommend or go on another Insight tour.

Trip: The trip is over-rated and over-priced for what we saw. Drove (rode the bus) for 1429 miles in eight days. Iceland is not prepared for the influx of tourists. Not many places to stop between schedules pull over areas along the roads to stop and take photos. Hotels were simple, clean. Their restaurants were very nice...breakfast buffets over the top, dinners were great. Luggage porterage not always available, or delivered to room in a timely manner. We paid for portage, but it was not always very timely.

Service: Kept things moving along. Included extra stops not on itinerary. Bought treats like lava bread for us to try.

Trip: We saw more of Iceland than any of our friends traveling with other companies. You miss many wonderful experiences on shorter trips.

Service: Our Tour Director Ruth Ridgway was amazing. She made sure all problems were addressed and questions answered. Iceland is a natural wonder and as such is unpredictable. Ruth and our driver "Raven" worked together to be sure we got the most from our trip.

Trip: I would like to have visited an archaelogical site or two, and also have gone to a horse show. The only real problem with the itinerary was the overnight and "free" morning in Akureyri, with the hotel outside of town and nothing relly to do.

Service: Yes, I would recommend them and buy from them again. I had only a few issues with their itinerary and choice of hotels.

  • 09 July, 2018

Trip: Really appreciated seeing the whole island. Many tours didn't give this option. Would have liked the tour to include: visit to see/ride Icelandic horses, visit to learn more about the Icelandic sheep, tour of the man-made cave in Langjokull glacier and Viogeimir lava cave. Our tour guide, Ruth Ridgeway, was excellent.

Service: Appreciated getting lots of organized materials ahead of time.

  • 09 July, 2018

Trip: Could have done a horse farm since Iceland is famous for them

    Service: Tour guide was excellent.

  • 09 July, 2018

Trip: This was a great itinerary hitting most of the highlights of Iceland. It would have been nice to visit a horse farm since we were repeatedly told about the Icelandic horses. We went a day early and took a puffin tour from Reykjavik otherwise we would not have seen puffins. The hotel was able to organize that for us.

Service: Our tour guide and driver were both excellent. The driver even took us on dirt roads to see some extra sights. The hotel meals were great, making sure to focus on Iceland foods but also serving the needs of those with dietary restrictions. Even though some of the hotel rooms were pretty basic, all had TVs, hairdryers and kettles. Our tour director, Ruth, organized an extra airport transfer for those of us with late morning flights that didn't want to take the 4:15 am scheduled transfer!

Trip: Very good itinerary. Get to see a lot.

    Service: Very good.

  • 09 July, 2018

Trip: The itinerary was clearly communicated allowing advanced information on the day’s events

Service: The trip was well organized from pre to post trip. This organization was clearly communicated to the travelers. It is important to know exactly what each day holds. Ruth, our leader, kept us well- informed without the monotony of “touristy” details. The bus was clean and comfortable and the driver superb.

Trip: Iceland was beautiful. The food was good. Lunch stops were very good. Rooms were better than I expected. And Ruth was an excellent guide.

Service: The tour guide is what makes the tour excellent. We know before what to expect in the ithinary. I also had a problem with one of the hotels but they gave me another room and were VERY nice about it. I do feel that it would be nice to have a hotel in town if we do not have the meal included. Ruth was an excellent guide.
