Visit the Rockefellers' renowned Billings Farm and Museum, a working dairy and farm life museum, before a stop in the quintessential Vermont village of Woodstock with its picturesque covered bridge. Arrive in Stowe, Vermont, the breathtaking alpine setting that attracted the real Von Trapp family of ‘The Sound of Music’ fame when they travelled from Austria in the late 1940s. At tonight's Highlight Dinner, each of the three inspired courses are perfectly paired with a lager tasting from your resort's on-site microbrewery.

Then head for New Hampshire's White Mountains and enter Franconia Notch. Get your cameras ready for a ride on the aerial tramway offering superb panoramic views. Later, journey through the dazzling crimson and orange hues of the famed Kancamagus Scenic Byway to North Conway.

  6. Day 6 - Relaxed Start

(Relaxed Start) This morning, enjoy an insightful presentation by a naturalist on the North Woods' wildlife and ecology. Then, more spectacular fall foliage awaits as you journey through Crawford Notch. Stop for pictures at the Silver Cascade Waterfall and Bretton Woods, offering stunning views of Mount Washington, the tallest peak in the northeast at 6,288 feet (1,917 metres). Return to your hotel where the evening is at leisure.

  7. Day 7 - Relaxed Start

The Rugged Maine Coast to Portland.

(Relaxed Start) Leaving New Hampshire's glorious fall foliage, enter the deep green pine forests of western Maine. In charming Kennebunkport, travel along Ocean Drive with stunning views of the Maine coastline and the homes of Kennebunkport's rich and famous, including the summer retreat of former President George H.W. Bush. There will be time to browse the many galleries and shops, or walk along the waterfront before continuing to historic Portland. Trip: Excellent itinerary. Lots of places of interest visited and excellent surprises along the way. The views were amazing with lots of Autumnal colours. The tour was everything we hoped for, and more.

Service: The whole trip was excellent. Our tour guide Jason, was extremely knowledgeable and always eager to help with any queries. A brilliant tour guide with a great sense of humour! The Rockwell Art museum, the maple syrup farm, gondola ride and Ben and Jerry's ice cream factory were all wonderful surprises,so pleased they were included on the tour. Loved the whole experience and would definitely recommend this trip to friends and family.

Trip: Well planned itinerary with the right number of stops throughout each full day. I would have preferred more photo opportunities but realistically it would be difficult to squeeze any more into each day. Great variety of hotels; well-paced travel on a clean, comfortable coach with plenty of room; food was excellent (especially at the While Mountain Hotel); and we were well entertained on the coach with apt music, interactivity with other travellers and snacks.

Service: Customer service was excellent from the contact prior to travel to the last farewell at the airport. The Travel Director (Manuel Marquez) and driver (Andre Rosenberg) were excellent, they were experienced, very well informed, a good blend of humour and they worked together very well. They, along with the other travellers, helped to make it a very memorable experience.

Trip: Everything was wonderful like I said before

Service: Everything was wonderful, the comfortable coach bus, the hotels and food, the tour guide and bus driver, the fall colors and the new friends. Bucket list trip!!

Trip: Great itinerary that hit the high spots of the northeast.

Service: We really enjoyed the combination of Manuel (our tour guide) and Andre (our bus driver.) Manuel was knowledgeable and pointed out attractions on the tour as well as keeping us amused with his anecdotes. The accommodations on the tour were fantastic and we enjoyed the food at each stop. We will definitely recommend this tour to our friends!

Trip: Saw lots of Fall foliage which was the purpose of the trip. Personally, I would prefer a few more nature walks instead of say Ben & Jerry's but maybe the majority wouldn't. Including Acadia Nat Park & Bar Harbour would be a good idea. We went there on a small tour just before the Fall tour. Also, the vintage train at Conway looked interesting and even the cog train up to Mount Washington.

Service: Guide, Jason, was well organised and informative and helpful. Bus was roomy and comfortable and hotels excellent. Meals were excellent too

Trip: Didn’t like 2 nights in hotels away from towns which restricted options on free nights

    Service: Delivered trip exceeding expectations

  • 14 October, 2018

Trip: Exceeded our expectations- just the right pace and full of fun insights.

Service: The tour director, Jason, did an exceptional job of making our tour interesting, relaxing, and full of fun insights - I see why your name is Insight Vacations. Would definitely go again and recommend to our friends - a lovely adventure at just the right pace!

Trip: The attractions we saw seemed to appeal to all of us.

Service: Robyn O'Malley was an excellent guide, did a great job of making us feel welcome and important. The agenda was well planned and she was knowledgeable about all the locations and the general area. It was nice to have all the details taken care of so that we could enjoy ourselves. This was our first tour and we plan to do more.

Trip: This was my first trip and my expectations were met.

Service: The customer service was excellent.

  • 14 October, 2018

Trip: We went for the fall colors and even though we were early for tour we did see some beautiful colors.

Service: Itinerary was great. They used high class hotels. Jason, tour guide, was very knowledgeable about area and had quite a bit of side knowledge. Dennis, bus driver, was very kind and considerate. This was our first bus tour. One thing could have been improved on, the drop off at airport at end of tour. The bus stopped at middle of drive between 2 air lines and we had to walk back to our airline with our luggage. It would have only taken a few minutes to stop at each airline.

Trip: All of the right places at the right time. History, color and fun.

Service: This was a fabulous trip. Well planned, well thought out, with an excellent day by day presentation by Jason, our Tour Director. Very First class. We stayed in the best hotels, best service and enjoyed the sights and sounds of New England. We highly recommend this trip and highly recommend Insight.
