Day 1: Welcome to India

You will be met by your Travel Director on arrival at New Delhi Airport and transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing after your flight or exploring the Indian Capital.

Day 2: Highlights of Vibrant Delhi

Take a cycle rickshaw ride through the old, narrow streets of Chandni Chowk bazaar, teeming with people. Continue onto the Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India and the largest architectural extravagance of Shah Jehan. Also visit Raj Ghat, the memorial site of Mahatma Gandhi. You will also visit two monuments from Delhi's past, Humayun's Tomb and Qutub Minar. Our drive takes us along the ceremonial avenue, Rajpath, past imposing India Gate and Parliament House.

Day 3: The Pink City of Jaipur

After breakfast, we travel to Jaipur. Known as the “Pink City”, Jaipur is the capital of the colourful state of Rajasthan. It has the distinction of being a well-planned city. As we drive through the old part of town, you will see life lived in the most extraordinary and unique way. Witness how the city blooms during the day in a kaleidoscope of colour and sounds.

Day 4: Cultural Wonders of Jaipur

This morning, ascend by jeep to the impressive Amber Fort from where the Hindu Rajput princes ruled over Jaipur. This afternoon, visit Jaipur city starting with City Palace Museum where you can see an imposing blend of traditional Rajasthani and Mughal Art. The museum is resplendent with its collection of robes of royal princes, carpets, an armoury of old weapons, miniature paintings portraying court scenes, battle scenes and processions. Also visit the awe-inspiring Jantar Mantar, an accurate observatory built in 1726AD. Included today is a photo visit to the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) - a five-storied wonder with a spectacular pyramidal facade and overhanging windows.

Day 5: Red City of Fatehpur Sikri & Highlights of Agra

After breakfast, travel to Agra. En-route, enjoy an excursion to Fatehpur Sikri. The imperial city of the Mughal dynasty between 1571 and 1584, Fatehpur Sikri was built by Mughal Emperor Akbar. Ponder the mysterious desertion of this capital city that was dramatically abandoned a few years after it was built. It was a veritable fairy tale city and its ‘ruins’ are still in a pristine condition. It is not hard to imagine what the court life must have been like in the days of its grandeur. Take a wander around the bustling chowks to sample Indian sweets and shop for marble goods, head to a rooftop bar to sip a cold one or opt to join our visit to the UNESCO listed Agra Fort. Another fine example of Mughal craftsmanship, the vibrantly red sandstone Fort dates back to 1565 and comes complete with fairy tale palaces, beautiful gardens and views of the Taj in the distance. This evening we visit a local market.

Day 6: Taj Mahal and Flight to Ananda Resort in the Himilayas

Today we start with an early morning visit to the lustrous Taj Mahal, a monument of love, built by an emperor in memory of his beloved queen. Marvel at the flawless architecture in the first rays of light. Afterwards, we return to New Delhi to board an afternoon flight for Dehradun. On arrival in Dehradun, we are transferred by road to the Ananda Resort in the Himalayas where you will be spending the next few days.

Days 7-11: Wellbeing and Enlightenment at the Ananda Resort

Day 12: Farewell India

Day 1: Welcome to India and Kochi!

On arrival at the Kochi Airport, you will be met by your Travel Director and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore Kochi (or Cochin), which is known for its 'Queen of the Arabian Sea' due to its fine natural harbour. It is a city made of islands connected to Ernakulam on the mainland by bridges and ferries. Experience the eclecticism of Kerala, while you explore Cochin’s vibrant streets, which were once frequented by seafaring traders from around the world. Tonight a welcome dinner is served at the hotel.

Day 2: Highlights of Kochi

After an early morning yoga session at the hotel, we embark on a sightseeing tour. We’ll visit the Jewish Synagogue (1568) - the oldest synagogue in the commonwealth – and the ancient Mattancherry (Dutch) Palace built by the Portuguese in 1557. We’ll also see St. Francis Church, the oldest European built church in India, and the amazing Chinese fishing nets operating on principles of physics, far advanced for their times. These unique fishing nets are the only ones of its kind in India. It is believed that traders from the court of the Chinese ruler, Kublai Khan, introduced these nets to the area. This evening, enjoy a special dance form of Kerala at the Kathakali Dance Centre.

Day 3: Spices of Periyar

This morning we drive to Periyar where we will check into our hotel.  In the evening we’ll enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Periyar to see regional wildlife and on the way back you’ll have the chance to visit a spice market and learn about the cultivation of various spices from Kerala, one of the largest spice regions in central Europe.

Day 4: Traditional houseboat to Alleppey

This morning we transfer to the jetty for a cruise on a traditional houseboat, which will take us through narrow lakes and canals towards Alleppey.  The backwaters of Kerala comprise of a network of 1500kms of canals, both manmade and natural. Kettuvalloms or Houseboats (rice boats) were used in the early days for the transport of goods from isolated interior villages to various towns. With the advent of roads, bridges and ferry services, Kettuvalloms gradually became scarce. Luckily for us, we still have the chance to experience this lovely form of transport.

Day 5-9: Carnoustie Ayurveda and Wellness Resort

After a sumptuous breakfast on board, we disembark and transfer to the award-winning luxury Carnoustie Ayurveda & Wellness Resort where you will be based for the next few nights. Your stay includes a consultation with a doctor and a Signature Ayurveda package tailored specifically to you. Indulge in a range of ancient Ayurveda & Yoga practices. Your comprehensive multiday package includes an Ayurvedic Massage, which is customised to your needs.  You’ll also be treated to restorative Shirodhara therapy, which involved liquids being poured over the ‘third eye’, Ksheera Dhara therapy, which assists with headaches, insomnia and mental tensions, and body scrubs. You can look forward to reflexology, guided yoga, meditation and purification rituals. Enjoy delicious Ayurvedic vegetarian meals throughout your stay.

Day 10: Farewell India

After breakfast, it’s time for check out and our transfer to Kochi International Airport for your flight home.
