Insight’s COVID-19 Travel Protocols
Now more than ever, being able to travel the world with confidence is necessary. Book and travel with the knowledge and assurance of our global round-the-clock support and plans in place for anything that may arise.
Insight Vacations collaborated with the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) to align and create global protocols which were awarded the WTTC Safe Travels Stamp. This, coupled with our up-to-date knowledge on national and regional government authority regulations and the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines, our on-trip standards focus on the wellbeing and happiness of our guests.
Effective immediately, all guests booked to travel with Insight Vacations are required to be fully vaccinated to travel.
The wellbeing of our guests is our top priority. As part of this commitment, all guests traveling with Insight Vacations through at least December 31, 2022 are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, which may include a booster shot to keep the vaccination status current and valid, depending on the travel destination. Please check your destination’s entry requirements, as well as requirements for accessing restaurants and venues to ensure that you’re prepared for your journey. Children not eligible for vaccination and/or booster at the time of travel must provide a verifiable and negative Covid-19 test result, taken within 72 hours prior to the start of the tour (taking time zones into consideration) until further notice.
Please note that guests will also need to comply with specific requirements imposed by airlines and/or authorities in the destination visited, which may be more restrictive than above.
This policy is subject to change at any time, without notice.
WE'RE COMMITTED TO YOUR WELL-BEING
On 2022 tours alongside your Travel Director, a dedicated Well-being Director* is available to support your journey. Most Covid-19 restrictions are now removed across the world, and in the unlikely instance a situation should arise during your tour, your Well-being Director is available to provide support 24/7, either virtually or in person. Well-being Directors are also available to support with things like testing to fly home or re-entry requirements.
In addition to your dedicated on the road team, our operations and guest support teams remain available behind the scenes, in contact and on call 24/7.
*The Well-being Director may be withdrawn without notice if they are considered no longer necessary. The Well-being Director support is only offered on trips for 21 or more guests and excludes destinations in Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Air within the coach is completely filtered and changed on average every 2 to 3 minutes, faster than most hospital operating theaters, which is mandated at 3 to 4 minutes. Our air filtration system is designed to create an efficient vertical and safe airflow that helps ensure impurities, like Covid aerosols, are not spread.
Hand sanitiser is accessible and freely available. We ask that you bring your own medical face mask as in some destinations it may be compulsory to wear a mask in certain settings or in public places. Your international carrier, departure airport or a transit airport may require that you wear a face mask, please check the requirements with your airline. Please note that airlines and other establishments may not accept washable cloth masks but only medical masks. On tour, in the case of emergency, personal protective equipment will be distributed to you.
All frequently touched surfaces inside your coach — including handrails, doors, tables, overhead lockers — plus your luggage handles, will be disinfected multiple times each day.
Our teams are always up to date and continue to adjust to the changing regulations from health authorities and local governments. They make changes behind the scenes so you are able to enjoy your tour.
Should an incident arise on tour, rest assured that we have protocols in place. We will direct distancing and coordinate with local medical support and testing. We will liaise with local authorities to follow directives, which will vary across countries, and support you every step of the way.
TOURCARE was created in collaboration between USTOA, CATO and ETOA (United States, Canadian and European Tour Operators Associations). These guidelines provide direction for tour operators across all touch-points of a tour – staff, suppliers, and passengers – to ensure that health and sanitisation protections are in place for each stakeholder and the communities visited. Sanitisation procedures recommended are those issued by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the European Centre for Disease Control (ECDC), and the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), as well as local governmental health authorities.
