TRAVEL INSURANCE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO PARTICIPATE ON OUR TOURS

We highly recommend guests have travel insurance covering all dates of travel with Insight Vacations meeting the minimum levels listed below and covering: tour interruption, tour delay, emergency evacuation/repatriation, medical expenses from illness, whether individual or related to a pandemic event, such as COVID-19, and any medically-imposed quarantine such as a guest in the group contracting COVID-19 while traveling with any Travel Corporation brand.

Most travel insurers require you to purchase your coverage within a certain time of making your initial deposit/payment. Guests are advised to research and purchase insurance as soon as possible after making the deposit/payment. As one convenient option, Insight Vacations offers a Travel Protection Plan, underwritten by Arch Insurance Group, that meets or exceeds the above coverages. Availability of travel insurance and extent of coverage can change, so please check back closer to your purchase or contact one of our Travel Experts. If you wish to purchase one of Insight Vacations’ Travel Protection Plan, you must purchase the Travel Protection Plan within 14 days of making your initial deposit/payment.

You are not required to purchase your insurance from Insight Vacations and are welcome to choose any travel insurance product that meets or exceeds the requirements above. If you purchase your insurance from another seller, we will ask you to provide Insight Vacations with information regarding your insurance policy prior to final payment being due.

No policy covers every risk. Coverages, conditions, exclusions and limitations under each policy differ. The minimum amounts listed above may not cover all your costs. You will be responsible for costs in excess of coverage amounts and for all costs if coverage does not apply. We encourage you to research your choices for a policy best suited to your circumstances.

What type of tour cancelation coverage do I have?

If you need to cancel for any reason and purchased the Travel Protection Plan, you will receive reimbursement in the form of a Future Travel Certificate from your Travel Provider equal to 100% of the cancelation charges. A full list of covered reasons for tour cancelation coverage, along with general exclusions, is found in your state-specific plan documentation.

Am I covered if I contract COVID-19?

You may be covered if you, a Traveling Companion* or a Family Member* contract COVID-19. If you contract COVID-19 after purchasing Travel Protection and are diagnosed prior to departure, the tour cancelation benefit may provide coverage if you need to cancel your tour. You will need to provide proof of sickness from your doctor and a statement that you are medically unable to travel.

If you contract COVID-19 once you’ve already started your tour, the tour interruption benefit may provide coverage if you need to interrupt your tour because you or a Traveling Companion* become sick. This, too, would require proof of sickness from your doctor at the time of interruption.

If you become sick with COVID-19 while traveling, your medical expenses may be reimbursed as well up to the benefit limits indicated in your plan.

*“Family Member” means any of the following: Your or Your Traveling Companion’s legal spouse (or common-law spouse where legal), legal guardian or ward, son or daughter (adopted, foster, step or in-law), brother or sister (includes step or in-law), parent (includes step or in-law), grandparent (includes in-law), grandchild, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew, Domestic Partner, Caregiver, or Child Caregiver.

*“Traveling Companion” means a person or persons whose names appear with Yours on the same Travel Arrangements and who, during Your tour, will share accommodations with You in the same room, cabin, condominium unit, apartment unit or other lodging.

What happens if COVID-19 causes me to be Quarantined*?

If you are Quarantined* prior to your tour, the tour cancelation benefit may reimburse you for unused pre-paid, non-refundable tour costs. If you are Quarantined during your tour, the tour interruption benefit may reimburse you for missed, unused pre-paid non-refundable tour costs and additional transportation costs to return home or catch up to your tour.

If COVID-19 causes you to be Quarantined*, delaying your tour for 12 hours or more, you may be eligible for tour delay benefits which may reimburse additional expenses for transportation, meals and accommodations, as well as missed unused pre-paid, non-refundable travel arrangements (up to the limits indicated in the plan).

In each case, you would need to provide proof from a doctor or government authority verifying your need to quarantine, as well as receipts for any expenses incurred.

*Quarantine means the enforced strict isolation and confinement of You or Your Traveling Companion at a single location, for medical reasons, pursuant to an order by an official government authority, a lawfully authorized deputy of such authority, or a licensed practicing Physician, which prevents any interaction with other persons for a specified period of time not exceeding the incubation period for a contagious disease to which You or Your Traveling Companion have been exposed. Governmental orders imposing Prohibited Access, social distancing, self-isolation that does not meet all of the requirements set forth above, shelter in place, or stay at home requirements or recommendations do not constitute a Quarantine.
